RLC West Midlands Qualifying
Bristol Sonics 80 - 0 Leamington Royals
The Royals lost four players to injury early on and never really recovered. Fair play to them for getting stuck in for the full 80 - good set of lads.
Friendly
Bristol Sonics A 54 - 18 Somerset Vikings
The Vikings were low on numbers today but put in a decent performance against our seconds. That was Sonics A's best performance yet - and their first ever win. Gloucestershire Warriors at home next week - big derby!

Bury Titans 16 - 46 Bedford Tigers
With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!

Heard a report of the first game (i.e your game with Leicester) from one of their players. Sounds like the game in Bristol in a fortnight will be a cracker - two unbeaten, high scoring teams who have conceded next to no points themselves. Something will have to give

I did know the other scores but forgot them! I think Valley Cougras beat Dewsbury something like 31-18.

Valley Cougars did indeed win 31 18
I only went to this as some, if not most of the other games in Wales seemed to be off, certainly Tydfil and CPC were. What little credibility these leagues had after last week is probably gone now
Cougars looked impressive however and will be difficult to beat at home. Superb ground at Caerphilly with two stands but of the crowd of about 50 over half were with the visitors

Oxford Cavaliers 38 Swindon St George 32
Swindon were winning 28-12 at half time. Fair play to Cavs on their comeback but we shouldn't have let it happen.
This one hurt!

RLC Prem - South
West London Sharks 18 -v- 36 St Albans Centurions
Played at Chiswick, overlooking the Thames between the rowing club and tennis courts. Typical rugby league heartland area. Great game played in the heat by two clubs that just didn't quit. Fairly even firt half, Cents pulled away in the second.
Heard Souths won at Hainault and Hammersmith were leading at half time against Rhinos. Not sure of the scores though.

Portsmouth 30 Elmbridge 28
Poor marker play cost Elmbridge dear today in the South Coast sunshine as the Navy Sea Eagles ran in 3 or 4 tries straight from the marker to topple the league leaders.

Rotherham are looking very shaky, they haven't got a team out for the first 3 weeks. Likewise Crewe are looking shaky. In Wales it's a long way from Machen to Carmarthen but still concerning at Premier division level, I don't have much hope for Blackwood after last year. most other clubs seem alright, Bonymaen seem very good for a new side.
