Dewsbury Rams would like to let supporters know that the details regarding their away fixture against Sheffield Eagles, scheduled to be played on Sunday 5th June, are still unknown to the club.
We were infomed some time ago by the RFL that the match must be played on the scheduled date, and that we would be informed in due course of the venue.
However, due to the incompetence of Sheffield Eagles in being able to secure a venue to play the match in the six months since the fixtures were released, we are unfortunately still in the dark on the matter with less than two weeks to go until the scheduled date.
It is unfortunate that we are in this situation with such a short time to go until the match, but perhaps we should have been expecting such a thing since this fixture seems to encounter problems every season.
ouch !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wonder why the RFL allowed the Sheffield / Featherstone fixture over Easter to be postponed.

All very strange.
Surely all clubs have to accept the fixtures at the beginning of the season and be aware/ advise where they will be playing.
You cannot go into a season NOT knowing where you will be playing. Also as mentioned by GFDU there are always things rumbling in the background with the Eagles. At the end of the day though surely it is about time the Eagles management got a ground sorted one way or another. They have been in existence for how long now?????.

There are no winners here. It's the supporters for whom I feel sorry. Could have had a nice day out at Bramall Lane but now it looks like Mount St Mary's.

To be fair, lots of clubs have problems when their pitches are reseeded. Not all of them come up against such intransigence.
I don't know many RL grounds who reseed in the middle of the season!

But I suppose its the risk a nomadic team has to face, still no such problems when you apply for Super League in 2015 eh
