International youth Rugby League will be played in the Netherlands for the first time when a historic six day tour will be undertaken by a Great Britain under 17 team.
The British Amateur Rugby League Association (BARLA) are sending a twenty man squad to the Netherlands and arrive in Amsterdam on Thursday 30th June.
The British team will be staying in Den Haag and will play a Nederland Tasman under 17 team in a two game series.
The matches, against some of the best youth players in Great Britain, will be a stern test for the Dutch youngsters, but the group which has been together now for over ten weeks are keen to show what Dutch rugby has to offer at this level.
Everyone of them is willing to learn about league and its felt that they will be more than competitive against a more experienced BARLA outfit.
Its is hoped that these games will show the best of what rugby league has to offer and will be a springboard for more youth rugby development in the country.
The first game will be played on Saturday 2nd July at RKDEO,Sportpark Centrum Nootdorp with the second game being hosted by DHC football club,Brasserkade Delft on Tuesday July 5th.
Entry to both games, that kick off at 19:00,is free and it is hoped a good crowd will turn out to witness this historic occasion.
