"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimesion, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave hadfield - Independent 25th Augsut 1996.

Good solid player Armi. 100% effort.not that long. See here
Having clicked the newspaper link, it says he was player of the year when Barrow won the Championship, but it was actually the year before in 2008 when we came 2nd in NL2 and were promoted. He played for Leigh in 2009 and 2010.

good signing well done to the board..them jam eaters are being bitter on there site and theyve been told off by the chairmans wife for being d heads oh you couldnt make it up
You have to agree with Mrs Raaz though as both clubs have people within who can't keep their mouths shut with sensitive information. Look how much we pick up off their forum which emanates at DP about Town's business. Someone at our club must be feeding that information and it makes us look silly having to read it on our rivals web forum. Someone leaked the fact that Haven were after Armistead and it might have cost them the signing, that's not to say that it did but until pen touches paper no-one has signed for anyone.

However IMO his best position is 2nd Row. Great 'engine' (as they say) and will tackle for 80 minutes.

To be honest they will get more opportunities than they would at town, havens reserves are pretty well run and anything is better than nothing.I know of a couple of very good young players who are very close to leaving whitehaven due to lack of opportunities at the club, but as we all know its hard grounds thats making them struggle for numbers in the a team!!
