Just had a call to say Barnsley are not turning up.
Carlsberg don't do Soldiers, but if they did, they would probably be Brits.<div align='center'></div>

4th week you've had that happen in a row isn't it? FFS pretty disgraceful.

I think the second week was postponed because we had our last winter fixture to play.4th week you've had that happen in a row isn't it? FFS pretty disgraceful.

Ah okay.I think the second week was postponed because we had our last winter fixture to play.
Shows why you can't have players playing in 2 overlapping seasons. To me clubs and players should choose either a March-November season or a September-May season. If BARLA want to run a short summer season to fit in the off season I wouldn't have an issue with that, but clearly noone can double up on the same day and same time

great comment bowes, that is the problem the dodgy dossiers/surveys have caused all the problems, if it was left to the likes of us (presuming your involved somewhere)the players and officials who just want people playing the game, it could probably all get sorted.
unfortunately, like life, money (£30 million sport England money) has intervened.

Hold on, BARLA was there first and the RLC used to start later than it does now and finish earlier. On the day we had a lot of players missing because of holidays, work, injuries and a wedding (Adam Pickles)of a player who does play all year round.Ah okay.

Well yeah BARLA shouldn't have to change their season but the summer season should either be March-November (preferably) or a short season to fit in the BARLA off season (possibly both for different clubs). The problem is when you try something that overlaps a little with the BARLA season but not enough to offer a substantial season.Hold on, BARLA was there first and the RLC used to start later than it does now and finish earlier. The North Western Counties have done things the best way IMO, they're running winter competitions for the clubs that want them and summer compeititions for the clubs that want them.great comment bowes, that is the problem the dodgy dossiers/surveys have caused all the problems, if it was left to the likes of us (presuming your involved somewhere)the players and officials who just want people playing the game, it could probably all get sorted.

National Conference League and Cumberland League have voted to go entirely summer and Barrow, Hull, Yorkshire and Pennine have voted to stay all winter so seems fair enough and clubs that disagree with those choices can usually join a league in the other season, the BARLA Conference meaning we have a winter season. I just hope this proposal that you can't have a winter club and a summer club goes through as the idea that you can play in two seasons 9 months long where 6 months of that overlaps is a recipe for disaster.

When will our game get played now?I think the second week was postponed because we had our last winter fixture to play.
Im feeling that Rotherham and Barnsley are unlikely to complete their fixtures now.......
We're playing York Lokos at home tomorrow if you fancy it......

The RLC started on the first week of May as far back as 2001, so to start the season on the last week of April in 2011 is not a very big change. The regular league season in 2001 finished in the first week of August. The big change since 2001 is the number of clubs that either play all year round or rely on players who are registered with another club in the winter.
Not a good start to the season, together with the Welsh league postponements in previous weeks. Still, I'm sure the Conference column in RLW will continue to put out positive stories only on the RLC going from strength to strength.
