Good signing if true, however... another prop? Where does this leave people like Gilchrist and Wood-Hulme? Personally I think Isherwood plays more like a prop as well so we seem to be more than well stocked there.

He played for swinton for the last 5 years, slim, mobile prop. On his day he has a great palm-off and great tackling technique for a prop. However this year he hasnt been able to get in the starting 17 due to competition for places and injuries. He used to terrorise defenses in our league with his angled runs, but havn't seen him do that for a year or too. Maybe you can get it out of him. If you go on the lions website, hes the player at the top right of the site in the logo.

Great! Let's sign a player who can't get in a side beaten by a record score of 112-0 the other week! That's really goinjg to addd to our strength in depth - we already have enough dross!!

If it true then I believe it to be a decent signing. I have followed this lads fortunes since he was a "junior" at Orrell RU. He is good tackler and runs his weight. A Wigan lad who should be an asset.

That previous comment really should be "a team that has beaten us the last 3 times we have played them and are currently unbeaten at the top our division". Is losing to Hull 82-0 in the 4th round a better result?

Me too, was an outstanding fans favourite at Swinton due to the work that he put in for the lions. He never gave anything less than 100% and it's sad that an injury has probably forced him out of the picture at swinton.

Forber isn't exactly great either! Maybe it shows just how poor Swinton, Oldham and the rest of the division in general are!!

Good too see some positivity! im pretty sure your opinions would have been different this time last year? and the year before that? I dont know on what basis your calling Swinton a poor side, but if its the Warrington result then that makes pretty much every other side who they have battered a poor side aswell? Leaving a long list of poor sides. I know Forber isnt great, thats why hes playing for you on loan (no offense intended). Bruce isnt a world beater either but he will put in 110% and tackle a bus if you ask him to.

I can fully sympathise with oldham fans because what your experiencing, us Swinton fans have for 10 years ish. But you cant simply start slagging off our league and every team in it. Were playing some good stuff this year and its good to watch.

It's garbage mate, the whole league from top to bottom! There are more entertaining games in the NCL and you are watching good honest lads, not mercenaries just in it for the money! Take a look at the Hunslet site to see the sort of posts you will be making on the Swinton board next season!
We as Oldham fans have been conned for the last 4 seasons - last year was the most blatant example of a club that did not want promotion in a GF that I have ever seen.
Tell me this - how do you expect Swinton to compete in the Championship on crowds of 400 or so? We are in a similar position in that our crowd base has fallen from well over 1000 to a figure not far above yours! The game is on it's ###### below SL!

bigred...you seem to have a problem with rugby league and sport in general - teams get outclassed all the time (at all levels) man u on Saturday, Leeds on Friday and yes Swinton against Warrington, but as our lads showed on Friday you get over it and get on in playing the game. I have been watching our great game for over 60 years and seen massive gaps between teams and leagues, but lets all enjoy our time in the sun, no matter how brief. Sorry tyou and Oldham are at a bad place at present, but you will bounce back and enjoy again - we Swinton supporters are enjoying ours no matter how brief it may be.

I dont know maybe im strange, but I enjoy rugby at our level, I much prefer it to superleague. I think individual class stands out more, the games are FAR less predictable, and when a good move comes off it really does look good. I think SL has ruined the game to a certain extent, and I understand that im probably in a very small minority in saying this but its just my view.

What I think is garbage is when you pay to watch a side who doesnt give 110% or simply doesnt respect the coach enough to play with any consistency. If the side does both of those then im happy. I dont mind being out classed and losing as long as my team plays their heart out and plays to a decent standard.

The problem with our league is that the people who run RL simply dont care about us. I dont like the fact that teams like gateshead are in our league not able to win a game when good amateur sides (Bramley ect) would probably do a better job (no offense to gateshead because their fans are fantastic!). The problem weve got as teams operating in Manchester is weve got 5 premier league clubs surrounding us. The true RL fans are a dying breed. God knows how we can generate interest in our clubs. I honestly couldnt say. In an ideal world clubs would have a small ground for themselves (no debts), so they could lower gate prices and have more cash to spend on a good coach. But most councils arnt interested in funding such projects and so we struggle playing at any available ground for ridiculous rent prices.

I agree to a certain extent, but I don't think Bramley are a good example - they almost folded from the RLC a few weeks ago due to lack of players, as they rely heavily on lads from Stanningly and Milford I believe.
