It's to Elliot's credit that he has taken Gould's involvement so positively whatever his original thoughts might have been.
It's also clear that he has reacted in a way that most people wouldn't or couldn't have.
The fact that he said no to the offer shows he was probably right to be offered the job and the original decision by the club, pre Gould, to sack him was maybe wrong.
Course, Panthers' fans are in a better place place to judge that.
It's Gould that's got his work cut out. Elliot can just focus on the team and it's performance.
Having just watched the Panthers beat a plucky Bunnies side in the driving rain at Penrith I can see plenty of reasons for some optimism.
Luke Lewis is back and Lachlan Coote and Michael Jennings a firing at the back, not to mention the big men - Civoniceva and Waterhouse are bigging it up.
The Panthers won't be a walk over for anybody, whatever the league position shows currently.
I notice from the report that the first casualty of the club's restructuring is the CEO who has resigned.
