Any lingering hopes we had of going up this year were killed off today because to do anything in the play offs we need to finish 2nd or 3rd to have home games. That isn't going to happen now. Another false dawn for the 'good lads club' I'm afraid.
On another note, it was interesting that 4 of Doncaster's tries came from their recently signed dual reg players (Potts from Wakefield and Green from Hull). How come we have not used our supposed deal with HKR to bring any of their young promising lads in ?

Charlo said on the radio after the game that he wants players to be honest and admit their errors but what is the point of that if the same players continue to go on making the same errors in the next game??? Fans have been saying that having Whitehead and Holty together in defence is a recipe for disaster and other teams are picking up on it. The same as with Kaighan's often weak defence where they target.
Some of the defence today was non-existent and some of the senior players should be ashamed of their performances today and how ironic that the coach writing in the programme today said, "I'm sure our defensive play will have given you supporters a little concern, as we have played in some high scoring games lately."
We can talk forever more on here but unless the board, the coaches and the players, do something about the situation then we are doomed to be playing in next years Championship 1 along with Coventry Bears, Nottingham Outlaws, Hemel Hempstead, etc, in fact, like Derwent, I think we have just made it almost too difficult to escape. The crowd today was 544, an increase probably due to the signing of Dave Armistead, which should tell the club that people will come back if they see some progress being made to build a team capable of not only winning in this league but of holding their own in the league above.
I think we all need to start demanding more hoensty or else we will continue to provide more mediocre days like today and crowds dropping away totally.

They should be embarrassed by the way they lost the game today, and I am 50/50 as to whether I will bother going back this season. In fact if whitehead is even in the squad for the next game I will definitely not be going. He was atrocious today, some of these so called superstar players we have need to have a good hard look at themselves. I am absolutely sick of seeing us do this ######, any team that loses a game like that has major problems, not only the players but also the coaches. Something needs to change, and fast. We get told by Charlo that changes will happen, yet nothing does. The players should be made to read the comments on here to see just how angry, embarrassed and utterly sick of seeing dross like that.
I am the same in thinking DKW but more like 30/70%
I attended the meeting at the Washington Central the other week, heard all the right things from the people you stood up and talked.
At the end of the meeting I approached our Chairman about investing some money in the club (apart from the new lotto), he took my email address and said he would get back too me, when was that meeting? about 3 weeks ago? This gives me the message they really can't be arsed and just talk the talk. I had asked about investing my money in any shares available, even if there wasn't any available it would be nice to hear back from them and even possibly offer some other means of investing but no.
We are hosting a nines tournament soon, anyone else seen anything about it apart from this forum? Smacks of a tin pot outfit.
If the Chairman's worst fears come to bear (Championship 1 Rugby v Hemel Hemstead) it's only what the club deserves with the rugby played at the moment.
32-16 up with twenty minutes to go and to throw away the game is beyond me. Just before the feed to the scrum the Doncaster try scorer moved from the right hand side of the scrum to the left and his marker did not move leaving the over lap for him to score - simple stuff you see kids getting that kind of marking right.
Maybe two weeks will change my mind.

Keith I think the 1st person who needs to be honest with us and themselves is charlton himself, the players are not improving and some, like Matty, havE gone backwards and look uninterested in the game. And that is solely down to the coaches, haven built a team nearly from scratch this year and are head and shoulders better than we are. And thats down to better coaching and man management, and I'm personally dreading the end of the month when we visit the wreck
I did say everyone needs to be honest wonky and that includes the coaches. Haven have built a team from going in to administration, not scratch, as they only lost about 5 or 6 players as others were moving out before they went bust and I'm sure if we had a financial backer, as they and Barrow have, we would have been able to put out a stronger team. We have been penalised for trying to do things without going in to debt but I'm afraid that isn't working and showing a profit on the club accounts doesn't bring in crowds to raise money for better players.

Every team we have played this season plays quicker rugby than us, and I include the welsh team and Gateshead in that. That's a bit of head in sand syndrome there Keith, we supposably took havens best player and they haven't got any major stars but play far quicker rugby than town do and are certainly better coached. On paper we have the better side, on the pitch it's a totally different story. As for Matty being the best hooker outside sl, he isn't even the best hooker we have, pedley is outplaying him every game

Keith we have a reasonably strong squad now but I'm afraid we have two coaches who clearly cant get the best out of it. Good spells of twenty minutes and then going to sleep is the same old story of the two seasons they have been in charge.
I am not disgreeing about the coaches as I also think they have taken us as far as they can BUT if our squad is as strong as you make out surely they themselves would be able to push themselves for 80 minutes and want to win the league, etc, etc.
If we accept that players have been going to sleep in matches for the past two years then surely we have the wrong players with the wrong attitude? I believe that it is easy money for some of the Town players as they pick themselves and pick their matches and that is something a good expertienced coach would have sorted by now.
