It is funny how things come back to bite you on the bum.....

Dave Butt:

The gap between Super League and the rest gets wider every season.
It's no joke nor any good for the game when a club gets 100+ scored against them, its just not funny
Now South Wales 40 Howdumb 20 is hilarious.

That was funny but, not nearly as funny as getting hammered by Skolars....!

And how long ago was that?

When was the last time you beat us in a game that meant something?

If we are talking history lets go back to your (more recent) memorable performance against Cas.

Or shall we delve deeper into the history books...

Rochdale Hornets...Won nowt!

How long ago was that? played 18 lost 18, the same length of time that your lot have been in this division. I'll just have a lie down to count the number of years you have been in championship 1

Ok, It was meant as a bit of banter with Dave Butt, who always gives and takes it well. Never mind.

The thing is, in 35 years of watching Oldham I have seen us in a John Player trophy final, a Lancashire cup final and 4 Challenge cup semi's in the space of 9 years and countless other big games.

I have been priveleged enough to see the likes of Tommy Martin, Chris Joynt, Barrie McDermott, David Topliss, Andy Goodway and Bob Lindner pulling on an Oldham shirt, along with countless others.

I have regularly seen the likes of Andy Gregory, Shaun Edwards, Ellery Hanley, Andrew Ettingshausen, Peter Sterling and Mal Maninga play at Sheddings.

I witnessed a pretty good Oldham side that included 5 players who toured Australia with Great Britain, and was there on the night we gave the all conquering Australian tourists a hell of a scare when going down 22-16.

Yep, we've sunk a long way, and there's no way back now. But, at least I have my personal memories of seeing greats.

You? You're used to watching dross. You haven't fallen anywhere....

That's all are part of your past BR and it's something you should be proud of. Problem is mate I don't think you've got much of a future and past glories are all you have got.
Hornets future might be uncertain and we may never win Super League but at least it's on our hands and I think it's brighter than yours. :)

Totally agree, it's in our past, and I was there.

I'm totally apathetic at the moment mate. Neither of us have a future, one of us may last slightly longer than the other, but it won't be long. If Hamilton ever gives up his pension fund, someone will step in a resurrect the club in some form, of that I'm sure.

I wouldn't describe whats round the corner as "bright", whoever you support :(

Bolton Roughyead,
You really have disappointed me with your quotes below, I thought we agreed to keep our sex life a secret

*Its funny how things come back to bite you on the bum*

*Ok, It was meant as a bit of banter with Dave Butt, who always gives and takes it well. Never mind.*

Seriously though that is what rugby league fans forums are all about, having light hearted banter with one another, I shall certainly try and keep it up for you

Love
Dave Butt
