There is another breaking news story on the Haven forum that Matty has walked out on Town!!!!! This rumour has been doing the rounds for at least a week but until now no-one has mentioned it. Knowing how they get to hear things before us about our club is there any truth in this rumour?

Hi Keith, heard the same rumour, and had it confirmed at Sellafield this morning by someone who should know! However have
no idea whether it is true or not!

It doesn't take much to confirm or deny these rumours but whilst they carry on circulating they can do quite a bit of damage.

This has been going round Sellafield for a couple of weeks, I heard it from a source who is close to a few of the players of both Town & Whitehaven, I think it is true, but was told to me that he has fell out with RL totally and it has nothing to do with Town in particular, he is frustrated by the niggling injuries he has had over past couple of years.

I heard this during the week, the lad hasn't looked interested in the last month or so, and I was shot down by a few on here last week for suggesting there was something more in the fact he didn't play last week at Wales. If the lad dosent want to play then the sooner it's cleared up the better, he's s class act but if he's hearts not in it then there's no need to keep paying big wages to him. Let's get him off the wage bill and get a suitable replacement in. I think pedley is a top player but could do with a good interchange with him. Marshall and king are solid but not great and if jack gets injured then were in trouble.

Totally agree, someone coming out and confirming the rumour or not will clear it up, we as fans deserve to know. Could it not be that the lad has realized that he made a mistake in going to town in the first place. As some say he has'nt looked interested in the last few games. Maybe he regrets leaving Haven maybe not, BUT even during all the strife Haven were going through last season Matty gave 110% every game and never missed many games with injury !!!!!!!!! Whatever happens he should stay in the pro game he is too good a player to loss
