We were in a game where we knew we were going to win but the boys showed commitment and desire to keep racking up the points, typified with the try on the hooter when it would of been easier to kill the ball but kept it alive and showed great speed and skill throughout. Holts kicking was top notch today, but the star of the show for me was ginge, bursting tackles, offloads and playing as the link up man on occasion. Miller and lows combination was great today and dawesy finished well when needed. The worst thing Gateshead done was start the mass brawl because town burst into life. It was good to see all the boys standing up for each other, and 2 who surprised me was miller and holt who dished out quite a good few punches. The ref sin binned the wrong player but then he just lost it and in truth deserved what he got off Dawes and miller. Not sure how ginge being the biggest player involved managed to get cut but he seemed to enjoy himself. We dominated the game, and certainly won the fight. Roll on haven, good stuff

Ginge headbutted somebody i think thats how he got the cut on his eye :), also he seemed pleased and happy when he got his try :). All of the forwards worked well and the backs linked up well together. Holt was definetly on form with the boot today kick 2 40/20 and also 14/14 goals - he troubled the gatehsead defence with the kicks that he kicked to the other side from what he was looking at. Brett Carter and Mossop worked well in defence and as Dave Bowden said after the game "i hope we have enough players for whitehaven" Meaning the RFL will be over viewing the game and may dish some bands out. Hope Pedley will be back soon after his knock.

Bring on the JAM! :D

As for bans the only one who might be in a bit if trouble might be miller. The kaighan 1st punch up was more hand bags and was punished by the sin binning. If there idiot had just walked off after the red card then there wouldn't of been any incident at all. The rest were all fighting but maybe a few fines but would be shocked if there's many bans dished out

At 36 - 0 in the first 30 odd minutes we once again switched off and started to make errors that allowed Thunder back in to the game and they took advantage to score two converted tries. They then came out for the second half with their tails up and looked as if they could have scored again with a bit more composure.

The referee definitely got the wrong man from Thunder. Kaighan was hit high and late by their number 14 after he had passed the ball. Kaighan took a swing at him and a fight started. Everyone ran in and fists were flying but the ref got control back. He then gave Kaighan a yellow card for retaliation and then picked out the Thunder full-back Stevens and gave him a yellow card. Stevens protested and then verbally abused the ref who changed the colour of the card to red. Once again Stevens started shouting and gesticulating to the officials and then ran back on to the field and started throwing punches at Dawes. All hell broke out then and the last we saw of Stevens was being led down the tunnel by a steward but he still hadn't finished as he started making obscene gestures to the crowd. He probably didn't deserve to be given the yellow card but he certainly deserved the red one and a lengthy ban for what followed. Both clubs could end up with a fine for the brawl and maybe one or two players on both sides could be going to Red Hall!!!!

Finally, is the 14 successful goals from Holty from 14 attempts a club record for goal kicks. I think the previous best was 13.

I think your right Keith. His kicking was superb today both for goal and in game. Most of his conversions were off the touch line. Very impressed

Todays match was a bit boring up to the big fight after the fight town were fired up. Its was nice to see McDonald play well and Miller was class i hope he plays like that against haven. McAvoy played well today for town but i think everyone played well.

On another note we are now the leagues top points scorers, if we can now solidify our defence then we should be able to string a few wins together starting at the wreck in 2 weeks time.

But we did play them this week, which is why we are commenting on it. Is that too difficult for you to understand?

Just give it a fortnight, if we win we won't hear a thing from them. Well apart from the ref was a town fan and how lucky we were.

Take it you were not there then, because if you where you would not have came out with such a comment, no matter what team you support, should your players just stand there and be hit when attacked, i think not, and as for your children, well, lets just pity them. Tadje

I agree with the comment "disgusting behaviour" but not with the clubs being penalised. These sort of things happen in the heat of the moment and on this occasion it had been sorted, wrongly as it happened, until the Thunder player took matters in to his own hands and decided that if was going to be sent off he would do something to warrant the red card. That is when all hell broke loose. I'm sorry your children had to see it but in any game of rugby league there is always the potential for a fight. I think both clubs will probably be given a fine suspended for a period of time for the brawl.

The first scuffle with kaighan and there 14 was nothing, then when there nutcassed charged and swung at dawesy, what did you expect the town lads to do, then the fact he made the gestures at the town fans and that to me deserved the kicking he got.

Doran may get off with a warning but he hasn't appeared before them yet. From the initial hearing they have decided to charge him with an offence. See here Doran

So what do you expect then, not to comment because its gateshead? Maybe we should comment on the price of crude oil instead, or the current political climate in Yemen. You can think whatever you want over the match in 2 weeks, lets just wait and see eh.

Ifonlyyouknew were 2nd in the division so we can't be as bad as you would like to think. Yes we've lost games we should of won and we've given them plenty of criticism but you can only judge and comment on your last game in which we've just put 84 on a team. When was the last time haven put 80+ on someone? Town4me which 3 do you reckon will get bans there was so much going on it was impossible to see all the incidents

they are supposed to be professional sportsman who should know better i understand rugby is a contact sport but when kids idolise people and they see them doing that its hard to explain why they shouldnt fight themselves when playing rugby
