Well that result sets up the series for a winner takes all final match, in Queensland.
The closeness of the Origin 1 result suggested that not only would this one be close but with home crowd support Blues might grab the win. 82,000 or at least the vast majority voicing blues support have gone home happy for the first time after four previous consecutive defeats to the Maroons.
The home crowd in Origin 3 will have plenty to contribute too.

What a fantastic game that was! Great advert for the game. Got to give credit to New South Wales for finding a way to beat that Queensland team. After going down so narrowly in Game 1 they showed tremendous character to level the series. The players reaction at the end showed how much they wanted the victory. For the first time since I started watching in 2006 NSW seemed hungrier and wanted the victory more than their counterparts.
Sets up Game 3 perfectly and I fancy New South Wales. The tactics of playing the smaller forwards worked really well tonight. Their go forward was so much better than in Game 1 and importantly they got a lot more ball as a result. Queensland strike force is extremely powerful so its hard to go against them but if they don't have the ball they can't hurt you.
Interesting that last time New South Wales won a series after losing Game 1 Stuart was in charge and they sealed series win in Queensland. Could it happen again?

That was an awesome game. The intensity, passion, skill and professionalism from both teams were of the scale. I can’t wait for the decider.
Watched the recording when I got home from work last night, then watched it again. The wife got home from Night School at 9:30 and I was still sat in front of the TV. Not even started our evening meal, she wasn’t impressed to say the least!

Yes the Blues have picked up the pace but I think Sticky's whine about penalties set the tone & was then backed up seconds into the game by the biggest suck in the league,(Gallen).
Think if the Maroons are going to stop the rot then Thaiday needs to A: learn to offload B: stop trying to prove he's the toughest bloke on the field
Was an interesting game that could still have gone either way until that final score.
SOO III will be worth the wait.

A very much alive series, a Lang Park decider, Blues looking to win the series for the first time in years, what's not to like?

"Perhaps it would be better that future criticism of sports be made on the narrow basis of what is being discussed, without reference to other sports, unless those sports offer a solution to the problem in hand." - Brian 'Pigface' Moore
"What happens in rugby union? A player takes the ball, moves forward a little and gets tackled. A whole load of players then roll about on the ground. Pheep! The referee gives a penalty." - Simon Barnes

Crusaders RL to get a franchise for 2012 onwards -WRONG
Widnes Vikings also to get a franchise - RIGHT
Crusaders RL to do the double over Widnes and finish five places ahead of them -WRONG
