The Rugby Football League recorded a pre-tax profit for the ninth consecutive year in 2010.

Total income received by the sport's national governing body increased to a record £22.8million in 2010, a 4.1 per cent increase on the previous year, whilst payments made to clubs and other member organisations went up for the 10th year in a row and now stands at £8.7m, also a record.

Posted Image Good news: The RFL make a profit in 2010 desipte not hosting the Four Nations in England

Nigel Wood, the RFL's chief executive, said: 'This was even more gratifying given that we did not host an international tournament in 2010, as this normally provides a considerable element of the organisation's activities.'

Government funding increased to £7.5m in 2010, up from £4.4m in 2009, but match income fell from £5.3m to £3.3m largely due to the Four Nations Series being staged in the southern hemisphere.

Will be interesting to see how much drips down to our league.

Drip being the operative word Arfur!
Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I’ve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
of sun-split clouds, — and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of......

I don't think I'm wrong in saying this but the Co-Op has had no extra money and if you knew the latest cons that are being suggested Col your ears would bleed!
