It's just been on Radio Cumbria that Ned has left the club.

I, like you Dave, am pretty dismayed by the attitiudes of some people posting on here. I'm certainly NOT enjoying what's going on - unlike some.

Thats ridiculous Steve!!!! No-one is enjoying it mate apart from opposing supporters.......why would any true Barrow supporter like their club becoming a laughing stock??? However, its been said for years now that this was where the club was headed and now here we are........ many people on this forum, sometimes yourself, have been happy to brush these concerns under the carpet along the way and have been taken in by the 'DES' show, which is understandable to some extent. With this in mind, surely you can't turn around now and criticise people for basically saying 'I told you so' as they've been proven to be correct.

Come on Steve, I know you are a true, long term supporter of the Raiders........surely enough is enough!!!!! The best way forward for the club is without the influence and input of Des Johnstone, either at the helm or in any other capacity and if the rumour mill is correct this will be happening anyway.

Am I happy that the club is where it is right now.....certainly bloody not but am I happy that it may be one step closer to a complete overhaul, forced or not??......abso-bloody-lutely!!!!

Why would people though want to pay their money to watch the team they love, when you have a person that is not fit to be a chairmen that is running the club in such a shambolic way.
The sooner he is gone the better for all concerned.

I don't disagree BJ, however staying away will only hurt the club more. Protest by all means but don't punish the club financialy is all i'm saying.

I agree I take no pleasure in seeing the club I have supported for over 30 years through thick and thin on the verge of self destructing if all the rumours are to be believed. However I would much rather have everything out in the open than kept a secret, the problem is that there are certain supporters who post on here who just don't want to hear anything bad about the club, take your blinkers off if you didn't see this coming you need to go to specsavers! :( :(

What is going on at the moment is very sad,and I agree with what you say Richie, but there are a few people who appear to be rubbing there hands with glee at the moment, people who claim to be supporters,I think they need to look up the word "support"in the dictionary!!

It is frustrating I understand, but I believe their are many supporters now staying away, as they have had enough now, of the way the club is managed by the BOD.

You seem to have been sucked in a wee bit Phil. Chairman????? The chairman is only a figurehead of what should be a board of directors......this is what I'd like to see, a BOD who have the best interests of the club and town at heart. I don't particularly have any preferences, why should I???????? As long as a new board is put in place that work in a democratic environment, voting on all club decisions......whether I think they are right or wrong is completely irrelevant. I didn't think that everything Des has done was wrong Phil but I know that the way in which it was done was wrong....and i suspect you do too mate.

In a nutshell Phil, Mad-Russ the dog walker could be chairman for all I care as long as things were done correctly.lol

I don't see any Barrow fans rubbing their hands with glee..I see people that have had concerns for a long time gutted that their worries seem to be coming true.

I know you defend the club to the hilt but even you must agree that if true then heads must role from the Chairman to the people who allowed/knew the alleged behaviour.

I think I speak for quite a few Fev fans when I say we are certainly not 'rubbing our hands' at these events. Barrow is one of our favourite clubs, good craic everytime.

Hope you manage to sort things out sooner rather than later and be back where you belong (just behind Fev  )

Because THAT'S WHAT SUPPORTERS DO!!!! SUPPORT!!!

Support the 13 men in blue and white out on that pitch, whoever they might be.

There have been more than a few Barrow teams down the years with players not fit to pull on the shirt. We've watched them get stuffed week in, week out. That didn't stop us going.

There have been cigar-chomping egomaniacs and freeloaders on the BOD, apparently more interested in their own egos and a free lunch that they were with what was happening on the pitch. That didn't stop us going.

Seen plenty of fair-weather fans only ever interested in the good times, happy to go to the big cup games and occasional finals, but suspiciously absent when Doncaster roll into town. That didn't stop us going.

Directors and players come and go, the crowd figure fluctuates with the club's fortune onand off the pitch. But the *supporter* still goes, regardless. It's in the blood.

If you want to make a point about how the club is being governed, driving the club into bankruptcy by not going in order to make a point about certain individuals seems to me to be ridiculous.

You could go and tell members of the BOD what your thoughts are so much easier if you actually go to the games?

If all this is true it is a sad time for this proud and great rugby league football club and its loyal supporters. The club will miss Ned but for all his failings, but would the club miss the chairman if he decided to go.He did bring success but at what cost.No reserve team no youth structure all a necessity for a successful rugby league club.I have supported this club for over 40 years and had my moan as much as others but if we are to lose points we need to get behind the coach and the players,we will miss the playoffs but I don't want to see us religated, which could happen.

Is there actually anyone waiting in the wings to take the reins of the club? cos if there is I don't think des and his mates will take much persuasion to leave. they could even make catic there first signing!!

Hopefully none of this is true as you the Barrow Fans dont deserve to see your club being run like this and being made a laughing stock. Halifax have sadly had some muppets like Nigel Wood involved in running the club that nearly see us go under. However I urge you to get behind your club and see through these dark days. The people making these mistakes are not the club and they will not be there forever. Barrow needs each supporter to keep backing them not to stop. All the best and hope your problems are soon over.
