Good stuff. Just hope the French are able to put out a good strength side.

This is the side that France could put out, subject to injuries, and the whims of Bernard Guasch:

Greenshields

Stacul, Baile, Duport, Vaccari

Bosc/Greseque
Rinaldi

Mounis
Raguin, Baiteiri
Ferriol, K. Bentley, Casty

Interchange: Pelissier, Simon, Fakir, Gossard

Reserves: A. Bentley, Maria, Martins, Griffi, Marginet, Gigot

This is a strong side that could keep within 20 points of England. It has never been selected so far.

Greseque and Rinaldi were the halves in the 2004 team that performed so well against New Zealand and Australia.

Les Chanticleers with a point to prove after the mid-season Test was shelved, England maybe missing players from the Grand Final (that's been the case with the most recent warm up fixtures). Could be interesting.

What if Catalans get to the Grand Final?

Which is not beyond the realms of possibility given the form they are showing. What kind of an effect would that have on this game?

Actually, having checked the dates its 2 weeks after the Grand final so there wouldnt be as big of a problem. I had recollections of the warm up matches being the week after the GF which would have been a nightmare!

I was thinking this was the week after the GF. If Catalans reached the final, the majority of the French team would be involved in that game where as a maximum of only 4 or 5 England players would be involved.

More often than not, as someone mentioned earlier, the team for the England warm up game doesnt include those players who were in the GF. If Catalans got there then their players would play the GF and then back up for France the week after.

As its a two week gap then the effects wont be as bad but its an interesting possibility.

The French players are known to suffer from "Giggs Syndrome" First diagnosed in footballer Ryan Giggs this illness manifests itself as an injury which occurs in the week leading up to an international fixture ,which then heals after the international has been played.

don't think Clint will be available unless Catalans make the GF - he usually goes home after the season has ended.

Bosc will be injured - you will be lucky to see him on the field again,he's in a much worse condition than you think PS

Nathan Wynn will be back from aussie and will be a part of the french training squad along with the pacy Greg White from TO13 so don't be surprised to see these two included somewhere along the line.Brendan Worth also qualifies this year so may make a claim if fit.

Assume Ferriol will be grape picking.....

Is that very similiar to "best hooker in the world Kieron Cunningham drops out of Aussie clash" syndrome?

Baitieri is nowhere near good enough, why no Olivier Elima ?

Elima has to be there

Baitieri IS good enough - he's been absolutely brilliant so far this season and on of Robinsons keys to success - he's had a few MOMs to boot

You are right I forgot Ollie. Apologies.

So I would put him in the starting side with Baitieri on the bench in place of Gossard.

I think the policy has to be to keep the side as French as possible. So I would keep the Aussies who qualify on residential grounds, other than Greenshields, as reserves in case of injury to the first choice side, which should be:

Clint Greenshields

Cyril Stacul, Jean Phillipe Baile, Vincent Duport, Freddy Vaccari

Maxime Greseque
Julien Rinaldi

Greg Mounis
Sebastien Raguin, Olivier Elima,
David Ferriol, Kane Bentley, Remy Casty

Interchange: Eloi Pelissier, Mickael Simon, Jamal Fakir, Jason Baiteiri

Reserves: Nathan Wynn, Brendon Worth, Greg White, Cyrille Gossard, Andrew Bentley, Antoni Maria, Sebastien Martins, Matthieu Griffi, Remy Marginet, Tony Gigot

If Greenshields does not play then Stacul goes to full back and someone not on the list above will have to play wing. Any suggestions for a French wing replacement?

Good for France.
England should put on a Cricket score and feel that they have the best Pack in the World and will be real contenders for the 4 Nations title, great preparation, no stone unturned.......

Hang on..... that was last year and the 4 before that.

Its all good Poms

This could be the year, with the size and pace in the Backs, the cunning and ball distribution in the Halves, The Pack will of course DOMINATE.
I Predict an England Kiwi Final with England tearing the Kiwis a new one.
