Got to agree, take anything from Battye with a pinch of salt, I remember his promises at Sheddings?

reckon if Battye hadn't been voted out in 2000 or whenever we would have had Sports park 2000 in place. The Lib Dems hit the two professional clubs in Oldham very hard in my opinion.

I was so anti Battye for years, and wouldn't of engaged him at all if I could of avoided it. But funnily enough, a few months ago I was in the company of a few people who where influential of the SP 2000 development, and they were adamant that Battye was the main driving force behind the development - but was let down by people who had pledged their support for the scheme, only to change their minds 24 hours before the final decision was made. What he said in the Chron adds up to what I was told a few months back.

guess there is no joint community stadium plan then, i thought the lack of development at Whitebank could be because those up top knew some reason not to bother but i cant see the rugby going back to BP so i guess its back to operation make Whitebank better.

We should do all right at Whitebank, when the council give us our £5.7 million!

Absolutely disgraceful. The amount OAFC have had off the council in the last 10 years is nothing short of scandalous.

to be fair the council cocked up big time with the failsworth debacle and if they didnt make this offering the legal ramifications on ombc would probably cost them even more.
But a nice little grant off the council which had to be put into whitebank itself would be amazing granted.

And the council haven't cocked up with us in the past?
At this time, financial constraints on the council are tight, why should the council bail Latics out for a third time? They can invest that amount into Latics, yet cannot sort out ownership of Whitebank - OMBC are a joke!

Spot on Mackin89. This is in effect an out of court settlement.
You can guarantee the cabinet will pass it on Monday, the planning submission(s) will be processed quickly and passed and before you know it, a new stand will be up at BP. Happy Days

...the town that died in its sleep.
Ain't it funny how you think you're gonna be OK
Till you remember things are never gonna be the same again?
Ain't it crazy how you think you've got your whole life planned
Just to find that it was never ever in your hands?
