It was announced today that crusaders will not be in super league next season, I think they withdrew. I wonder if this means they will pack in altogether, opening an extra slot in the championship.

Another failed expansion attempt from the RFL. I bet they would fall over themselves to help if a merged west cumbria team were to step forward for a SL franchise.
Unfortunately some people still believe that either club can do it alone despite both clubs going bust trying to do just that.
It should be the perfect time to start dialogue, but our noisy neighbours will want to build the new stadium now it looks like it will go ahead. Looks like we will have to settle for second best for a few more years yet - awesome!!
The race is not always to the swift nor the battle to the strong, but thats the way to bet!

Haven will be sharing a small community stadium that is a long way from super league standard so for them to think they can go to super league is ridiculous. Look what has just happened to them in the last few years like what happened to us in the 90's. Cumbria would be a great choice for super league to expand into. We are a RL heartland and deserve a crack but due to pre-historic attitudes it wont happen.

I'm all for a West Cumbrian SL side, let's face it, we aren't going to do it on our own.

Need to put behind all the rivalry stuff and do what's best otherwise it could be just more financial struggles
