Barrow has been docked 6pts immediately and another 6pts deferred until next season, for breaking the salary cap. Serious enough, it seems, to warrant 12pts deduction, but why defer 6pts?
Barrow remains above the immediate relegation zone, allowing even for the demise of Toulouse. So, a slightly harder battle to avoid relegation, but they still have the players paid for by the breach to do so.
I am unclear (perhaps everyone is?) how the championships will be formed next season, but if a franchise application system is adopted, surely the breach would affect Barrow's position? Is it time for the RFL to stipulate a total points deduction for such breaches as I think happened in Oz?

So the level playing field has more hills than Nepal. It's about time the RFL started dealing properly with clubs that break the rules of the competition, it's just as bad as playing ineligible players in the cup if not a lot worse!

I'm with you on that Wendy, it's not the fans it's the club and unlike us they have no power to hold their board to account as we do!

Basically, they are wheelbarrows - they go where they are shoved!
