not wanting to P on anyone's bonfire, but wasn't funding supposed to be in place and agreed for a specialist demolition firm to dismantle the stands and transport them over to fev? thats what i was imformed by a senior figure involved!..hate to think what the H & S gestapo would think of joe public clambering up and down the girders removing bolts etc

Technical stuff like that is left to the experts. We remove accessible electrical items (disconnected), remove seating from stands and prepare brickwork ready for transportation. If the H&S people show up, I hope that they bring some overralls.

Only just seen it in p n c that theres a chance some of the stands could be arriving as early as next week

Anyone confirm we are in a position for this to be true  or is it just another bit of 'accurate' reporting?

Been through today and a bit more pulled down (in a controlled manner of course!).

The stacks of concrete are the steps / seat areas that have been removed, finished em off today.

Bob's a smashing bloke. Made a wrong shout like as has been discussed, but a cracking fella nonetheless!

Cheers for the new photos, massive amount of work done.

Its gonna look fantastic when we have completed the work and get both stands up at Fev.

Whats the steel work looking like? The same as the seat frames, No rust? Just wandering if they in need of painting like I originally thought they would. Will probably be worth it while its down.

That will enable fans to help out at weekends when the framework arrives home.

This is a good idea everyone could join in and people could bring their kidds down and they can join in so everyone will look at stand and say i helpd paint that :D would be a good exhibition

What precautions are being made to guard against the metal thieves? Now that the railways are taking extra precautions to stop them chopping copper cables they will be turning their eyes elsewhere. I heard that thieves broke into Rovers' ground in the summer, damaged the back gate at the railway end and tried to use the crane type digger that's there to try and dig up the cables that feed the floodlights. If they know there's valuable materials left overnight they won't be able to keep away.

In the village where I live we have been without electricity for 8-12 hours three times in the last 3 years due to theives choppling down and stealing the overhead power cables. Can anyone up and about in the early hours of the morning please keep their eyes peeled for this kind of thing and report anything suspicious to the Police? Let's get them caught and locked up before they target the Rovers!

If its the concrete that's coming first then all I will say is if they can shift it, they can have it. They are very very heavy and a git to move, found that out when taking them out on Monday. Let em try and once a couple have been crushed, the rest will stay away!!! Sorted.
