Town have signed Rochdale prop Chris Clough. Good player, a workhorse who really gets stuck in from what I've seen of him.....

Good news and a good signing. He had a strong game against us in the cup at Rochdale.
I remember when .............................
"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimesion, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave hadfield - Independent 25th Augsut 1996.

The information in the article is incorrect as Chris Clough is NOT 30 years old he is 24 years old, born 20/1/1987.

They thought he was not good enough. He is like king who haven have signed, they are looking to stay in the game and likely town and haven represent the best possible option to play for a contract next season, and, you have to wonder why some of the championship clubs did not jump in,but they probably already know what the players have to offer and i suppose they are not good enough for them hence the two cumbrian clubs take them on.The only good thing to come out the both of them is clough is a few years younger than paul king.We will see at the end of the season how both players have come on for both teams and we will see who gets a contract.

Clough deemed not good enough by rochdale ,king who's played for GB and PLAYED 12 SL games this season and played for wakey 3 weeks ago in SL.don't think you can even begin to compare the two .think your stretching it a bit there trouty.having said that thought clough wad a decent player any time I seen him playThey thought he was not good enough.

If king was super league quality he would be still playing for Wakefield, who haven't exactly got a team of world beaters at present. I actually agree king is the better signing, but let's be honest the last time you all got giddy with excitement about signing an ex superstar it didn't turn out so good. Motu Tony ring any bells. And we have added clough because we need cover for our pack, whereas king will be you best forward by a mile.
