A bit concerning Ovenden A are in the fixtures for two leagues starting in a few weeks but otherwise looking impressive 9 divisions. Could be 10 or 11 the season after if the Yorkshire League finally dies.

Why have you got such a major thing about the yorkshire league! It has nothing to do with you, bowes. You are trying to create alarm and despondencey! The yorkshire league will survive long after the failure of summer rugby to pick up the pieces! There may well be an joining with the pennine, but its nowt to do with you!!

Give it a rest. If I can't comment on a league my club isn't in then surely that means you have to stop your lies about summer rugby league as you don't have a club in it or any other league for that matter.

You're the one saying summer rugby league will die. Sounds blinkered to me given there's no evidence.

What evidence is that?

How can a bunch of RU players having a kick about be used as evidence for what will happen when proper RL players and proper RL clubs switch to summer? The proper clubs in summer already don't have any problems.

8 Moorends Thorne Marauders

10 Newsome Panthers

Looks like a good division to start our Pennine League life, the only side we have a little knowledge about is fellow ex-Yorkshire league side Allerton Bywater who played in the division about us.

Apart from the two Huddersfield & Bradford sides the travelling will be no different than if we where playing in the Yorkshire league.

Odd that Sherburn Bears got placed in division six, they gave us two good games last year.

Was thinking the same thing they're not 5 divisions worse than you.

The Bears got a few hammerings at the tail end of the season, maybe that has something to do with it.

I've just checked and we beat them 36 - 0 at their place near the end of the season, I actually thought it was a closer game than that.

From what I heard they withdrew their application after their interview with the Pennine management.

All these winter clubs could be in for a long, cold, slog if the early long range weather forecasts are anything like correct

......I therefore expect the 2011-2012 winter to follow a similar pattern in terms of how November and December was in 2010 for the vast majority of this winter. It will be exceptionally cold and snowy with well below average temperatures. I fully expect to see records broken with the highlands of Scotland being once again particularly hard hit. It is therefore vital to start preparing now in terms of high energy bills and raising awareness amongst the most vulnerable and elderly people of society....
