A piece in this mornings League Weekly reads:

"Meanwhile, it has been revealed that the Raiders, along with their Cumbrian rivals Whitehaven and Workington, are in talks with the Rugby Football League to discuss radical plans for the game in the county.

Those plans could include some sort of combined Cumbria junior development programme, though Dave Clark says talks are in the early stages.

We're still working with the RFL to discuss what they feel the future direction of Cumbrian Rugby League should be, said the Raiders coach.

There aren't any details yet but it is good for all the teams in Cumbria to work together."

I wonder if the fans of all three clubs will be consulted for their views?
I remember when .............................

"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimesion, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave hadfield - Independent 25th Augsut 1996.
