The next couple of weeks could have a significant effect on our club's future. Two wins would give us one of the two favourable positions (2nd or 3rd) for reaching the Championship 1 Grand Final and if our neighbours manage to beat Keighley as well then Town would finish 2nd. That would mean a home game against the 3rd team with the winner going directly to the Grand Final. The loser gets a second chance with a home fixture against the winner of the 4th to 7th position play-offs.

Even though we are in such a great position at this crucial time we still don't seem able to increase our crowds!!! I know many people who have given the club "another" chance on several occasions only to be let down with a poor performance and I would hope that this squad is better than that.

But do we do enough to attract more people back? I would suggest that whoever is in charge of media at the club should be providing stories for the press every day and looking to the Times and Star for a full back page spread next week, especially if we win at Doncaster. Goodness knows we might even persuade Mr Morgan and the News and Star that, on this occasion, Town are in the box seat for bringing success to the area and we might get a little more prominence from them as well. How about Border telly or Look North? Manufacture a story telling how important this period is for the future of the club, etc, anything to get the publicity!!!!

What about a presence around the supermarkets and town centre, visits to schools and amateur clubs, free tickets for kids under 16? We have been in the lowest division for the past 8 seasons losing more and more fans each year but here we have a chance to maybe get some of them back again, so don't let's waste it. Seize the day.

I agree with 99% of that Keith, only 1 fault is if the lads go round local schools they will be the only 1s there as it's end of term. Lol keep up the good fight.

The home game against Oldham is exactly the kind of game to use for promotions. Send a bucket full of free tickets to some companies and schools, adults go half price or free if they take a child etc.

Agreed KT a massive game on Sunday at Donny, too many times even this season,
where a couple of good results have been let down by a bad one.

The win away at Oldham was huge, really hope the lads can keep up the momentum
gained from getting such a good win away from home, a win on Sunday and then good marketing should result in better crowds for the last home league game and then play off's.

Come on Town we've had too many false dawns, let's get the win Sunday to make it a lot
easier path to the grand final.

No it's the following Wednesday mate, and yeah I get your point. These are 2 of the biggest games in a hell of a long time. If we can get a few extra down for Oldham then if we get a home playoff tie then we should of already attracted a few new faces.

Well done to the News and Star and Ryan MacDonald for their piece today trying to whip up more support through the gates.

Let's keep that momentum rolling over the next few weeks. A win of any sort this weekend should, with proper marketing, etc, bring in upwards of 1000 for the Oldham game and the prospect of a Grand Final only one more game away after that.

Come on Town.
