Being a life long supporter of the Bulls I have been like everyone else, very downcast over the last four years at the sides woeful performances. The only light in the gloom has been the performances of Andy Lynch, who at one of the lowest points gave the club his backing by signing on again when he was in much demand by other clubs. I now live in Wales, and this year work commitments have limited my watching the side. On Sunday I was there to see the side, and as ever, Andy was in tremendous form, but sadly all the talk was of him leaving the club, Hull I understand. I hope there is nothing in the rumours, sadly all too often they turn out to be true. His leaving would I am sure weaken the side even further, although aging, he is still one of the best props in SL, and I know he is a real fitness fanatic which more than compensates. Please let us know the truth of this story.
Going to be announced after the last round of games allegedly and we have paid a fee. Rumours around today we are also interested in Burgess. Our new owner promised signings even if he had to pay a fee to get who he wanted.

If the club wants to sell our best young players when we're financially ok then it can take a running jump. If we're in a hole and need cash to survive then fine, but I understand that not to be the case.

I wonder if Saints have also bid for Lynch ?

A massive kick in the gut if true, which it looks to be. He'll be missed - one of the great under-rated players of the past decade for mine. Deserved to play in sides better than us in past four years.
Agreed... There were strong rumours some years back that he wanted out of the McNamara regime - but also heard the board went all out to keep him - for obvious reasons..
He hasn't disguised his unhappiness this season - so for me the rumours fit and I cannot see him staying ....
Only when he has gone will we feel his missing contributions - hope an equivalent replacement is found - but won't be holding my breath!

Ben Ross from Souths by the look of it. I'd rather have Lynch, but if he wants out, this is as close to a like for like replacement that we're going to get.Only when he has gone will we feel his missing contributions - hope an equivalent replacement is found - but won't be holding my breath!

Tom Burgess will not be leaving for another Super League club.

Is he changing his mind about going down under?

I wasn't given that impression; it was simply stated he will not be leaving for another SL club.
I guess while his brothers remain in Australia, the possibility that he will join them can never be ruled out - that's the way it was put to me as part of my wider query about retention of players.

I hope not. I don't like the fact that Lynch is leaving but at least you might see some sort of benefit for both parties. If we are selling potential stars of the team then it's downhill fast(er).I contacted the club about this and while I won't quote the reply verbatum (as I don't think that is fair on the person who replied to me), and although trying to keep their cards close to their chest and pointing out that Lynch has a year left on his contract, I got the distinct impression, reading between the lines, that Lynch will be going, whether that be to Hull or another club.

Fair enough, thanks for this and the previous info

Agreed Johnoco and that was the reason for my contacting the club. The negative message selling a player like Burgess, or any of the other potentially very good young prospects we have, to other SL clubs cannot be underestimated and would fly in the face of everything supporters have been told with regard to the development of talent at Odsal.
I would also say, however, to anyone wavering on the pledge; I get a sense it is more imperative that you commit to it than it ever was if we are not to see the loss of players (whomever they may be).

Yes but it's got to honest. And I will not have the pisss taken out of me by the club in the form of selling off the best young players prior to paying for a pass. The Lynch sale I can live with, Burgess no - unless it's to Souths. In which case I can understand that.
The fastest way to lose fans is to sell our young talent.
Untouchables... Elliott, Addy, Burgess, O'Brien, Olbiston, Donaldson, Bateman and probably some others that I've not seen yet.

Agree completely Konkrete, that was my wider point and, as I say, what prompted me to get in touch with the club.
You can't on the one hand tell us that these lads are the future of the Bulls and on the other sell them off to the highest Super League bidder as appears to have happened with some of the juniors in the past who would have been first team regulars for us eventually (albeit some clubs have taken advantage of the Bulls' financial situation to take those players and that of course is a different situation).
To be fair, the response I got from the club was that Burgess in particular will not be sold to another SL club, that was made emphatically clear.

After all it's only 2 - 3 weeks ago that Adam Pearson told the Hull fans Agar was going nowhere.
If negotiations are ongoing for young Burgess they would hardly want it to be common knowledge until the deal was done.
I hope your right as I like to see home grown lads filling the team sheets at any club - although Bradford have not been averse to nicking the odd up coming player in the past (Lee Radford!)
It will be interesting to see what transpires and I'm sure there will be a lot of twists and turns at most clubs as they start to build for next season
