Despite the regular season ending York and my team Dewsbury still don't know their fate yet. Are they both relegated? Or just the Rams? How are we supposed to start planning for next season when we don't even know which division we'll be in?

There's a massive gap financially between the two divisions and the players want to know which league they'll be playing in.

Not a difficult ask is it? I expect the Rams will be relegated but York may well be saved. If the RFL expects clubs to plan and live within their means (which Dewsbury certainly do) then the RFL should do their bit and make a decision.

The RFL have already stated that it's 2 down unless Crusaders fold (which now seems unlikely) in which case York would get a reprieve.

I assume we are and we are starting next year with a 6 point deduction. Even if we had more points deducted this season we still would be fine.

Throw in to the mix the fact that Oldham are hitting form at the right time and could go on and win the Grand Final BUT their stadium at Whitebank is a long way off meeting the criteria for the Championship!!!!

Throw in to the mix the fact that Oldham are hitting form at the right time and could go on and win the Grand Final BUT their stadium at Whitebank is a long way off meeting the criteria for the Championship!!!!

So the RFL will have a 9 home game comp in the Championship to support running costs of £500k at clubs. That shows a clear understanding of what clubs are crying out for - more guaranteed home games in an expanded comp to increase income and create a home followed by away fixture list with no gaps - and you wonder why we think most SL fans are clueless richardheads with an 'Im alright Jack' attitude.

perhaps the best way forward is for the CC and CC1 to be amalgamated into 1 league which would guarantee clubs a minimum of around 18 home games so the club finances would improve as a consequence.

That is a possibility but could you see the scores if Gateshead played Fev/Leigh etc. Sorry to say this but we should lose the Gatesheads and Skolars to a new third tier they could compete in whilst they build. The second tier with 15/16 home games would work.

Ah, but don't worry. We have the Late Trains Cup whereby lower ranked teams are always given away ties at higher ranked clubs who keep the gate or you get home draws to clubs who bring no support to boost small gates in a competition that perhaps half a dozen teams have a realistic chance of winning.

And if that's not enough, we can always draw a SL team at home in the Challenge Cup and let all their fans in for nothing on their SL season ticket deal.

That should see us through those periods where we have four weeks without a game...

As a man who is mainly involved in the amateur game, does that make me less or more of a richardhead? If you team were promoted, would you change team? Do you think most Championship fans have a good understanding of the needs of the amateur game, because many on the National Conference Board think otherwise?

That is true bowes, but a home/away/away/home/etc, is possible and certainly beats a home/off/away/off/home system that we see too frequently giving clubs one home game every 5 weeks or so.

With the greatest respect to the hard working people at the likes of Skolars, Scorpions and Gateshead

Fev ran in about 900 points this year in a league that contained lots of whipping boys, can you imaging the carnage if us, Leigh, Fax, Sheffield etc were lining up against teams of that calibre.
