Millom 'A' 26 v Walney 'A' 16 (Ht 14-16)
The game was sensationally abandoned in the 64th minute following a mass brawl with Millom were leading 26-16, the B&D league committee now have to decide whether the result will stand.
The first half was nip and tuck with Walney holding a 14-16 advantage but with a strong wind at their backs Millom came back strongly in the second half to take a 26-16 lead. Following the brawl the match officials decided that was enough and abandoned the game, the decision seemed to take the players, coaches and supporters by surprise as there hadn't been any incidents leading up to it.

The rule's use to be, the results stand after 60mins if the game was abandoned, that's when I was still running marsh hornets open age. They may have changed this thou but not sure

As you say Cents, it wasn't a dirty game leading up to the brawl so it took us all by surprise.
Curtis had told newby that he wanted to abandon the game rather than send 4 players off!!!?
In my opinion it shows his inexperience. you see things like that on tv in the super league and the ref will sin bin a couple and have a strong word with the captains.
People need to remember, this is Rugby League, not puff ball!

i think curt would of done just that sin bined a few and carried on but seemed heavily influenced by his dad who was running the line his dad is an offical but i have never seen him at a game before i think he is the guy who runs the refs and was to quick to stick to the absolute rules where as anyone else would have just binned the 1st offenders and got on with it personnelly think he should stick to the admin side of dealing with the refs and let the lads in the middle of the field deal with the players !!!!...as you say i dont think there had been a penilty foe dirty play all game was played in good spirt and feel the call to abandon was to quick

Fully deserved win for Millom, the only consolidation from Walney's perspective is that I'd like to think we wont play that bad again all season.

Ulverston travelled to Redwaters to be told Roose could only raise 6 ... pretty bad not to let us know earlier considering you were so short! Also it said in the evening mail that Roose 1st team played with 16 against Walney so why didnt one of those 6 bench for the 1st team?? Strange
