Very disappointing but at the same time no surprise either.

Not to worry. Been a great player for us, but there's a replacement out there. I'd wish him good luck, but I wouldn't be being at all sincere.
What I'm looking for is someone who can contribute to what England has given to the world: culture, sophistication, genius. A little bit more than an 'ot dog, know what I mean?

In the form of one of the March brothers by the sound of it!

Always rated Paul (on the field) but not sure he's a natural Stand Off.

In Mr Kear we trust though

Don't believe all you hear! Some of the rumours flying round at the minute appear to be utter cack.

Oh I agree Chairman, it's actually quite enjoyable as you dont know what to believe!

The only thing we know is that we now need a top drawer number 6, although i'm sure we will already have targets lined up.

I'm sure he's not the only half-back we'll be bringing in, Nick. There's a young guy at Wakefield (a former Bradford Bulls Academy player) who I've been assured is also on the radar.
For the record, I'm not too disappointed with Handforth's departure, as its obvious now that his only loyalty is to our ex-coach, and not Batley Bulldogs RLFC. As that appears to be the case, I'm glad he's gone.

so much for him telling people at presentation he were staying as he really likes it at batley,no big dealanyways,it were mentioned weeks ago he were off with carl anong with rettie/robbo/breth/williams. am more interested in who wants to stay because they do want to stay as am sure JK will have ample replacments in the pipeline, roonie.fozzy, obst, and korkides will do for starters.

Agreed. Dont panic Nick...all will be good. if you listen to the jungle drums then Lockeyer will be having his swansong whilst working parttime at Fox's buscuits and standing on the door of the frontier!!

I'm disappointed in that Tiger gave great service to our club and always gave 100%. On his day he's the best Stand Off in this division, but at the same time isnt irreplaceable.

A young fringe SL player (I think I know who you mean) with plenty to prove and lots of hunger, could just be what we need.

Thanks for everything Tiger and good luck . Am glad to see the club are not being held to ransom by 1 single player , anyone else who wants to go chase the £££ you know where the door is .

Good to see people of the likes of Ash turning down more money and showing true loyalty , remember the grass isnt always greener folks .

Onwards and Upwards in John Kear we trust

Good luck to Tiger at Fax I say. He did us proud in the couple of years he was with the dogs and I don't blame him for following KH one jot. I trust Kear (as I did KH) to get the right players at the right cost to keep us in the top six.

Good player, but unlikely mate.

Cant see his ego (cue angry, defensive response from Bulldogstyle) allowing him to go back to the club he left for 'better' things less than a year later.

Plus, not really sure I'd want him as I wasnt impressed with him at the start of the season....he looked like someone who had little interest in being here and thought he was ready for better. Think it fine, but his attitude and demeanour on the file kind of showed it.

Of course, I could be wrong though!

Personally, I'd have Gareth back like a shot. Great player.
I guess he'd only be back on loan, though, with a clause stipluating Wakefield could recall him should the need arise (leaving us with a half-back to find).
Surely better for him to be playing regular rugby at CC level than kicking his heels at Wakefield, where I think he's only played a few games to date.

Whether he'd want to come back (for all sorts of reasons) is another matter.

Have no problem with PH leaving at all. He did us proud for two and a half seasons, and not once coudl I ever question his commitment or effort.
Not only that, he is one of the best players I have seen up at the Mount, and he gave us all a great deal of pleasure I am sure.
Good luck to him and his next step.

It's also a next step for us now, and I am looking forward positively.
