i think charlos waiting to see what happens down at barrow 1st
I think it'll be more a caseof the PLAYERS waiting to see what happens at Barrow before signing anything, rather than Charlo.

The club suffers financially now, and very few supporters will pay good money to watch a very poor standard of rugby without the prospect of promotion at the end of it.
I admire the board for being one of the more financially stable clubs, even if it has meant we haven't enjoyed much success in the last 15 years, but those rules go out of the window for the next 12 months. We need experienced players, and if we need to ship them from overseas, then let's get on with it!!

i think we all have to go up next season or the merger talk will be back again. If ever there was a time to go '###### or bust' it's going to be next season. If Town get cast adrift and end up in a division with the likes of Hemel, Gillingham!!!!, London Skolars, Gateshead etc. then it will be time to bring down the curtain on 65 years of rugby league in the town.

and none of us want that.

As much as Town are my team, I've gradually accepted the fact that a merger will happen at some stage in the near future, economics will decide the fate of both clubs

Worst case scenario and neither Town or Haven make the cut next season, how many supporters do you think the clubs will attract in a league with a load of southern clubs and no prospect of promotion for a few years?
I very much doubt I could motivate myself to pay to watch it, it's only going to be one step up from the amateurs who will also be playing in the summer!!

Why do you seem to think theres no prospect for promotion for a few years??Whether they want it or not, that isn't to say it won't happen.

Promotion and relegation continues between the Championship and Championship 1 from 2013 onwards!

"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimesion, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave hadfield - Independent 25th Augsut 1996.

Were desperate for a hooker to be signed up, even if pedley signs we still need a good interchange for him to take some pressure off him. Hopefully lupton has been talked to already as he would be great at this level for us. But it has gone very quiet over the last 2 weeks, the likes of mossop, low, dawesy, mcgoff have never even been mentioned. And what about stack?????Heard a crack Town have been talkin to Nathan Mossop, hooker ,apparently he's left barrow.

Rumour I got told was he was on the verge of signing but another super league club came in for him. We will have to wait and see, but hopefully we will get him.It says on the Jambos site that we have signed Peter Lupton and its a done deal, if true this would be a very good signing indeed, although some on their site will no doubt say the opposite! we will wait and see if true!

Tutty and cotter have signed new 1 year deals.
Whilst it's good to see these lads signing on again these are what we could call easy signings because Cotter is blue and white from the top of his head to the tips of his toes and Tutty has been in both local camps and come back to Town. If he plays anything like he did in 2008 with us I will be pleased.
But as I say these are easy signings and I think the fans are more bothered about what is happening with the more difficult signings. Being a very impatient sort of bloke I hate this time of year for this very reason!!!!
