Can also add a young lad called jack Gaskell to the list.
Is that the young 16 year old that signed last season?
"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimesion, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave hadfield - Independent 25th Augsut 1996.

All businesses have debt. As long as they can be managed and paid, they run as normal. At the public meeting it was stated that the debt will be spread over 10 years (against the ground) - making it manageable. I would think that the Goldrush Lottery income, gate receipts, sponsorship, corporate sales, bar takings, RFL cash and season ticket sales would comfortably cover the £150,000 maximum salary cap. I think we should average at last 800 gates next season. Times that by 11 home games at an average of £9 a head and you've got nearly £80,000 for starters. The money from the RFL will take that figure up to the £150,000.Any one Know how Barrow are financing these deals ? I thought they were in massive debt !!!

So the income you have shown will just about pay the players wages, what about the outgoings such as utility bills, insurance, ground maintenance, insurance, travel etc, etc ? And surely you need a profit at the end of the seson to pay a chunk off the 10yr debt !! Could you not have gone about it the Haven way, by sticking two fingers up at your creditors and starting with a clean (but very tainted) slate ? Or is there a good reason why your club couldn't do that ? (apart from having the moral fibre and self respect not to behave that way obviously)All businesses have debt. I would imagine that by owning their own ground, if they had gone into administration or liquidation the ground would have been sold to pay off creditors.

All well and good SRC but what about the other £225,000 you need. The salary cap limits payments to 40% of relevant income as well as a finite limit of £150,000 so to pay players £150,000 you need an income of £375,000.

I don't have all the facts and figures to hand, but the Goldrush lottery probably covers the extra £225K on it's own, and also remember that my figure of 800 average attendance was a minimum (based on our last 3 seasons in NL2 - 2006: 900, 2007: 1,300+, 2008: 1,400+).All well and good SRC but what about the other £225,000 you need. Theres been the same rumours for the past 2-3 years and nothing comes of it. I wonder what Chris young is up to? I think were deperate for a real creative player, someone who can change a game in an instant.need some good replacements for likes of jack but if mattinson is back all we need is a player to sub on and give him a rest what about jamie marshell.
