What happened to young Hewitt who was signed on season before last, looked a real good hooker and could surely do a job for us, we need an interchange for matty and can't be solely reliant on him.

Young Hewitt wasn't that young. I played in the same team as him and there's been quite a few Christmases since my boots were hung up for the last time.

I honestly thought he was only a young lad when he 1st signed, still looked good though.

"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimesion, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave hadfield - Independent 25th Augsut 1996.

Just been listening to Dave Bowden's interview with BBCRC Sport on @Audioboo and he says we should see two more signings in the next 4 or 5 weeks for the start of the League season and then 2 or 3 more during the season. The theory is that you very rarely finish the season with the team you started with so we will add players later. It worked last year with Dave Armitstead.

Don Gailer in his interview thought it was amusing that Town were getting their photos taken with the cup "as if they had won a Grand Final in January". Mmmmmmm ............

With Peter Lupton's injury from a car accident and Bamber possibly out for a few weeks we need to be getting those signings made, especially if they are backs, as we are starting to look a bit thin from 1 - 7!!!!!

Yeah a scrum half is a must now. And sooner rather than later.

Deffo majorly light 1-7. Need a back up full back / winger , a fourth centre / utility and another half. If our backs get injured not much cover at moment.

So the link up with Hull KR is alive n well! But I don't get this we may get players later on if required... if we get injuries etc. Are we that good we don't need a Super League clubs players from the outset! Just about every other team has dual-reg , we should have a couple of Rovers to give us a lift from the start rather than scouring for players- use the link. Remember that flying winger n goal kicker who played for Scotland in November? A month or two for lads like that I mean.

Theres been the same rumours for the past 2-3 years and nothing comes of it. I wonder what Chris young is up to? I think were deperate for a real creative player, someone who can change a game in an instant.

defo need some creative backs for life in the championship
