Are the clubs listed in the divisions switching to summer or is it just out of date based on original expressions of interest (explaining the exclusion of late entrants Culceth). As that Premier division would be good.

Good to see such positive info emanating from the northwest, things still seem to be shrouded in mystery east of the pennines.

Some good divisions there too with plenty of names from non-traditional pockets of the northwest. All looks very promising.

Am I right to assume that the 'emerging teams' division will have a merit league format?

i think the list is highly indicative based on last years expressions of interest but also some changes since. I expect lots of chnage - we in Bury will ask to be a division lower as we look to build again as we do every year with new people trying the sport.

The emerging teams will be a merit league, can start playing games from March and right through to November with clubs allowed to join that league at any time.

This is a smart move and could provide a gangway for clubs who aren't quite ready yet. I just hope provision is in place to prevent clubs who have opted to persevere with winter to distort the competition just to get some extra bar takings over a 6-10 week filler season.

With a bit of luck clubs who have stayed winter are encouraged to join the competitive leagues when they start in April, there is no point for example Pilks playing teams in the entry league when they are currently playing at Premier division level, and better teams in the league will make for a better competition

Blackbrook are not switching. Pilks Recs are almost certainly switching. I think those lists were based on the expressions of interest shown last summer and are no indication of teams that are likely to be in the NWML structure come April.

I think that it is something that they are seriously looking at, I don't think there would be any issues in meeting NCL criteria. It would cetrtainly be good for amateur RL in St.Helens in my opinion if they did.

Pilks were allegedly signing for the summer league last Friday not sure if they did, with their new facilities then you would think tier 3 will be an aim.

Where are they now playing? I used to play for them and go to watch them when back in the Northwest.

Its was never really an option as we don't meet criteria, it was offered to us by the RFL as a possibilty with them accepting teams with reduced criteria but we didn't pursue, longer term goal would be tier 3 but a bit of work needed first.
