Well said, the completion rate for games during the summer is dreadful, you get some teams travelling with as little as 6 to 8 players and borrow players when they get there, the teams that played in the heartlands where made up with other teams players (not many with be playing in the summer) until the NCL went summer (bought off) the RLC was in bad health.

Got to agree Marauder I think there will be tears, teams are hoping for help from others it just aint going to work, just hope that once the numbers begin to drop and the panick sets in that something can be done about it??????????????????????????? becuase i can see teams (and or ) clubs disintergrating.

In 12 seasons of summer my club's first team have only ever had to forfeit one game at a time we were really struggling. The only reason for games being called off regularly in summer is poorer quality clubs which as of this year is no longer the case. The expansion leagues still had just as many games called off in winter as now in summer probably more. The other problem is some areas don't have enough clubs to have close divisions much the same problem the Yorkshire League used to have.

I agree with Bowes, the only reason for teams struggling to fulfill fixtures were that it wasn't the players own club and the leagues felt like they didn't really matter if they won or not. There has to be a correlation between numbers at training during the winter months and numbers training during the summer months, i hazard a guess that the summer numbers are double the winter. Barrow island get 3 times as many players training during August than we do during January, I can admit to being a fair weather player as many people know, I'm a pussy and don't like the cold and I don't enjoy running up our hill in the mud.
Even barrow islands pitch is a pleasure to play on when it's dry.

wilso you know that amy loves my extra chub for the warm cuddles i provide her, she said its like cuddling frostbite with you cos your a bean pole. her words not mine. So walney get a couple of lucky wins in 10 yrs and they think our pitch is a joy to play on eh.

Pioneers have registered an interest and will be seeking the opinions of players over the weekend before a committee meeting on Wednesday. My gut feeling is that we will swap to Summer.

Is it true Ulverston have swapped to summer and arnt going to fulfill the rest off this seasons fixtures. If they have how will they decide what league teams play in.If Walney win their winter league will they start in a higher one in the summer,if Ulverston dont play their games would they not finish lower in their league and have to start in a lower league, maybe miss out on playing in devision 1 if not all the teams above them join.

Are Walney switching? Would guess division 1 winners would get in premier if they switch but don't know about 2nd because they need to fit Bank Quay in premier. Though going to be tough to sort out and don't know what takes priority.

Teams are supposed to finish the season before switching though so should harm them.

Dont know about Walney but I expect they will if most or all the other local teams have.Just wondered thats all,and yes I can see Ulverston getting some sort off punishment if they dont fulfill their fixtures.

Because as of next year most open age sides will be playing summer. Maybe only about 60-70% but it will be the case. Unless you just mean in Yorkshire?

Its a fact that most teams will be playing in the new season surprised Marauder took issue with that!!!!

With a League Title to play for I seriously doubt Ulverston will forfeiht the rest of the seasons fixtures.

I noticed before Christams they were due to play Irlam and it was 18 - 0. Was that the actual score or did Ulverston give them the game? If the latter then I think it's in the NWC rules that they couldnt win the title or get promoted

I'm not 100% but I think Ulverston travelled with 13 and actually played the game ?

Seen on Facebook that Roose Pioneers have applied for the summer league also now.
