Is it true Ulverston have swapped to summer and arnt going to fulfill the rest off this seasons fixtures. If they have how will they decide what league teams play in.If Walney win their winter league will they start in a higher one in the summer,if Ulverston dont play their games would they not finish lower in their league and have to start in a lower league, maybe miss out on playing in devision 1 if not all the teams above them join.

Could be true, as they forfeited game today, away to Haresfinch.

So Ulverston A team was called off and they couldn't raise 13 players out of the club to fulfil an away fixture, to me that an embarrassing state of affairs whether they going to summer rugby or not.
It will be interesting how many players both Millom and Askam A teams get over the next 2 weekends with their first teams having games.

I think you'll find our A team will have a side out regardless of the friendly against askam.
Out of 19 players we had on Saturday against cents, three were first teamers and that was because they couldn't train with the first team Saturday morning due to work commitments

we had 20 players on sat we borrowed one to walney and yes we will have an A team out on saturday apart from craig wils who played because he couldn`t train through the week the other 2 1st teamers that have been refered to are only fringe players who have been on bench in the past season and only play a hand ful of games due to work !!! just sounds like alot of sour grapes from "cents" again we have played you 3 times this year as an A team and beat you fairly convincingly every time even on your own ground !! bit of credit where its due would be a better comment as you said in your reply the last time we beat you "walney wont play that bad again"...well maybe we just didn`t let you play well ..

No sour grapes from Walney we have been beaten fair and square on all 3 occasions we have played Millom this season.
Once again so far this season we haven't called any games off because we have failed to raise a team, I believe both Millom A and Askam A have been called games off this season due to not be able to raise a team (Ulverston V Millom and Walney V Askam(, please correct if I am wrong.
I haven't mentioned about Millom playing any first teamers on Saturday and I am not intending to do so.
I simply said it will be interesting how many players both Millom A and Askam A raise over the next 2 weekends when their first teams have got games.

the game we called off against ulv is like this we had 13 and wanted to play the game but 3 of the lads were 16 and we were told by the ref we couldn`t play them hence my going on about 16s being able to play open age so on that 1 occasion we struggled due to not being aloud to play some lads !!! and so this season so far you ain`t called off a game for not having a side thats good but theres many seasons we aint called off games either as im sure all the other teams have had i`d like to think it would never happen but it does some more than others ~( not us tho ) lets see how you get on in the future especialy sticking with barla and winter rugby what will you do when the barrow and district goes to summer ( which it will ) !!!

Personally think that B&D will vote to go summer at their next meeting just wonder if they will start this year, you could get the season in between May and September

From a personal point of view I wont be playing much summer rugby (maybe a bit early season - mar/April and a bit late season - sept)and I also very much doubt I'll be involved in the coaching set up with Walney A team, this is down to personal preference and doing other things in the summer months.
As a club if the B&D went summer then I'm sure that Walney 'A' would do ok and get the required support from the players
Going summer has pro's and con's just as winter does.

As said in the earlyer post we had 20 players against yous the week befour we had 17 against Ulverston (it was 17 or more not sure now) and only 2 off them were fringe 1st teamers, the 1st team had another 22 trainning with the 1st team squad that morning. So we shouldnt have any problems(I hope).

The Pennine League has loads of teams in winter (about 90 the season just gone) but the Yorkshire League hasn't got many left it has 20 this winter season.20 teams have gone summer from the yorkshire league how many are left
Though is this 20 you mention teams that played summer in interim or extra teams switching?

20 played interim though one of those definitely won't be in the summer league. Think there's about 30ish total but when you add RLC clubs onto the 19 doesn't leave many sides switching. Seems silly some clubs are leaving their reserve team winter, though in Myton's case it's understandable.20 that are on the yorkshire league list at www.abrighterleague.com I dont know if they played summer last year or have just switched
It's a drop in the ocean in terms of winter rugby league in Yorkshire though which remains very dominant and appears likely to do so even if it's out of step with the rest of the game.
