Maybe so but the RFL didnt even come up with that for Wakey last year who asked for a loan not a buy out of the facility.

Doesn't seem fair but hadn't Wakefield already sold the ground? With a potentially insolvent club and no security for the loan looks like The RFL were just protecting their money.

With Odsal ( Wembley of the North cica 1956 ) there is huge scope for development. Maybe having the RFL in board gives the access required to various grant bodies. Bring in Manningham and you have the door open to the FA.

I'd be happy that being used as our National Stadium given a £25 million spend . It won't be Twickers ( thank god ) but it's got history and if they get money to square off the pitch and stands it could look superb.

Great day dream I'd like to see the reality?

from the RFL web site

clearly says it has bought the ground. Is that not correct?

A couple of possibilities?:

1. Bradford and Calderdale Councils are about to award a joint £400million  tender for a company to recycle and reprocess municipal waste for the next 25 years. Bound to be a fair bit of inert waste salvaged over the period. When it's filled, the Council can build a mosque on it. This is much needed as we've only got seventy nine of them.

2. Bradford City rents the Valley Parade ground from a former chairman. The rent and standing charges were rumoured to be £1million per annum.
The current chairman has previously discussed moving to Odsal ... as in discussed with the Telegraph and Argus.

3. Paul Caddick decides to redevelop Headingley. He wishes to turf out the Rhinos, who point out that this is a physical impossibility since there hasn't been any turf on the pitch since the RU boys started sharing it. He agrees to buy Odsal so both the Bulls and Leeds share it. Leeds can have the Bulls rent money to make up for the now-finished Iestyn Harris compensation payments.

If you ever do get any money you could start by paying back the goodwill other clubs showed you in giving you players in 1964 including Wakey and Bramley ,after you folded once again, you could also compensate Bramley for crocking TOOHEY after you signed him in the late 60s and he had to come back and bramley crocked and bramley got nothing

but you and I weve been through that and this is not our fate.
So let us so let us not talk falsely now.

I always have problems with the correct answer to this type of question.

Should one say "No, that's correct"? or "Yes, that's correct?" or "No, that's not incorrect"? or "Yes, that's not incorrect"?

What I will say is that we can't sell something we don't own.

All will become clear a week tomorrow at the members meeting at Odsal Stadium.

I look forward to seeing a more coherent version of this when you've sobered up.
And when they found our shadows
Grouped around the TV sets
They ran down every lead
They repeated every test
They checked out all the data on their lists
And then the alien anthropologists
Admitted they were still perplexed
But on eliminating every other reason
For our sad demise
They logged the only explanation left
This species has amused itself to death
No tears to cry no feelings left
This species has amused itself to death

Yes and you could build a small 8,000 capacity ground for the money that we are talking.

Not the time or place mate.

Are you saying that Bradford Bulls have a sugar daddy in the shape of the RFL?

We wouldn't have agreed to a deal that ultimately however far down the line would end up seeing the Bradford club end up in a far worse precarious position.

The RFL will be paying for the general maintenance and upkeep of the stadium and it's facilities.
