For the love of God
Now then, it's a race between Sandie....and Fairburn....and the little man is in........yeees he's in.

I, just like those Castleford supporters felt that the ball should have gone to David Plange but he put the bit betwen his teeth...and it was a try

Kevin Ward - best player I have ever seen

The real Mick Gledhill is what you see on here, a Bradford fan ........, but deep down knows that Bradford are just not good enough to challenge the likes of Leeds & St Helens.

You don't think playing Hull FC in a dump of a stadium in a random part of the southeast is part of a carefully planned strategic vision?

well as you put it like that, maybe I've been a little hasty in my posting.

Perhaps I should have put

Beautifully timed too just before the Magic Weekend.

Hardly random - it's clearly been carefully selected to be pretty much as far as possible the other side of London to the Stoop, and designed to cause maximum inconvenience to regular home fans and season ticket holders in a bid to test fan loyalty during this re-re-relaunch season.

There can be no other explanation.
"I take you, neighbour; they only pretended to this serious difference of opinion; for if it had existed they could not have dealt together in the ordinary business of life; couldn't have eaten together, bought and sold together, gambled together, cheated other people together, but must have fought whenever they met: which would not have suited them at all. The game of the masters of politics was to cajole or force the public to pay the expense of a luxurious life and exciting amusement for a few cliques of ambitious persons: and the pretence of serious difference of opinion belied by every action of their lives, was quite good enough for that."

It'll be like being football fans for us it's so far to travel.

Oooh look, it's at a football stadium as well. How ironic.

It's a rare occasion when I am in complete sympathy with the away fans.

That's a nine hour round trip.

DUMP it certainly is and GILLINGHAM/CHATHAM are without doubt 2 of the worst towns in Kent in fact the surounding area reminds me of the old Hull FC ground so maybe Hull FC fans will feel at home.

On a serious note MEDWAY DRAGONS are one of the most progressive amateur clubs in the country with a fantastic jnr set up however it is still a very strange decision regardless.

I had to chiil before posting
If your wondering about Priestfield Stadium here's the map, Gillingham Next to Chatham or CHAVham as its known.
http://maps.google.c...F-8&sa=N&tab=wl
This is not about spreading the game in the south, its not a St Louis Rams style Three year commitment to playing and developing a supporter base in Kent. It's another one-night stand, one of many the London Nomads will be condemned to every summer from now on while pitch re-seeding takes place at the Stoop just like at Griffin Park.
That is until kindly uncles Richard and Nigel contact Boris about getting a knock down price on that stadium in the great post olympic fire-sale at Stratford.. No it's not THAT stadium.. ;)

Beats Twatters IMO and I'll bet crowd is bigger. RL is meant for rough towns

Went to Gillingham once for a Southend United game about six years ago. That was more than enough.

On a more serious note, if they are to take a game to Kent, why not at a different time of the season? That's three league games in May - one in Leyton, one in Gillingham and one in Manchester, which is just daft.

At the risk of being shot down in flames....I looked at this somewhat differently. Seem to remember a pretty good article in RL World a while ago about the fact that Gillingham was developing into something of a thriving amateur scene and was "buzzing with interest & running teams from under 8 all the way to open age". IIRC it also said that there had been a big surge in interest over the last few years. While at the 4nations we were sat next to a pretty big contingent from the Medway Dragons - who seemed to be passionate about the game. In the area where I was sat (load your bullets at this point)there were more fans from Medway / South East than from many of the heartland clubs - of course it might just have been the section I was sat in.
So for me.... I support the idea. If helps build interest (which it might) it has to be good for the game as a whole down there. Hull will take a fair few as always so it may not be the disaster thats being predicted.
Ok thats my "glass half full" moment over for the year!

Yet more drivel. At least it's a new variety of drivel though, to be fair.

Used to have to live in Southend myself, and you are throwing stones at your own glasshouse there.

Surely the point of clumping them altogether in one month is due to the pitch work at the stoop to be completed? Happy to be corrected...

As for Priestfield Stadium itself, it's actually not too bad, except for the open seating in the away end. I think it could make for a good rugby league ground. 5,000 (yes, I know it's unlikely for this fixture!) supporters would look and sound good there.

Aren't Medway one of the clubs trying to join National League 1?
Perhaps the RFL asked the Broncos to take a game to Gillingham to gauge the interest in Rugby League there.

This was a game I was always going to have to miss due to the fact I need the annual leave
later in the year, having put aside 5 days already for home fixtures. Having seen where it is
being played though the blow of missing the fixture has been somewhat lessened.

Im all for expansion but surely they could have perhaps found another London venue.
That said when you consider the shambles that is the Hickey situation nothing would surprise
me anymore when it comes to Londons Super League Club.

Whatever the name, whatever the year its just the same,or at least it seems that way currently,

Still Happy Days weve got Saints next week !!!

Correct.

looking foward to the days out at Orient and Kent. Both of these would be better locations for RL than Twickenham of all places, which has virtually zero local RL fans contributing to the Broncos crowd

Yes but most season ticket holders and casuals from all over Greater London (like yourself) and beyond so it will make little difference.
