Yeah suspect they've decided to focus on winter. Unless they have NCL ambitions that would make sense given how much better run the Pennine League is.

I expect Pennine will get reshuffled with more Yorkshire League sides though doubt any would go straight to premier.

Good teams are normally placed in the 1st division with the odd exceptions like Queens & Co
Carlsberg don't do Soldiers, but if they did, they would probably be Brits.<div align='center'></div>

Someone like Upton could go in the Championship if they're switching.

Yeah think it's just Queens, Sharlston, Hunslet Old Boys and West Bowling who went straight to premier. Fryston could have done but are summer instead (subject to their discipline not discounting them)

I think Drig may have gone straight into the premier as well and we would welcome Upton into the same division as ourselves as the local Derby game.

I think they may have to introduce a East and West division somewhere under the Premier next season.

Drighlington went into division 1 and went straight up but they then changed the rule after that for Sharlston (presumably division 1 clubs weren't happy at the hammerings).

Think you're right about a split, just not sure at what level they'd do it.

could do it at div 1 & 2 I've heard on the jungle drums that a lot of clubs (not only Yorkshire ARL) are making enquiries and if it's true I can see the championship possibly being split.

Were you talking NWCL or Yorkshire Men's League (or at least the short season clubs) as the others or both? Or even Hull?

From what I've heard you can look at higher placed clubs as well if there is any truth in it.

Don't think they'd be allowed to switch unless the Pennine League lets them start fixtures late. Think NCL sides switching is unlikely though. Perhaps Bramley trying to exploit summer players off season?

I don't understand why you keep saying teams will not be allowed to change back to winter, BARLA will welcome any team back and the RFL have not been completely inocent in seducing clubs to go to the summer season have they.

Clubs aren't allowed to change league midseason. The RFL refused to allow NWCL teams to do it. The Pennine League could well have teams start end of October if BARLA exempt them from cups? Not sure why NCL sides would drop out though.

Simple not everyone wants to play in the summer, we gave our players a vote on which way they wanted the club to go and not one voted for the summer and thats after having seven seasons in the summer, We've strong conections with one of the leading clubs via it's players and the feed back is they are not happy as there is so much more to do in the summer with their families.

Do you think the NCL will gradually become more Lancashire based?

What about the Youth players who will have grown up in summer?

Come 2013/14 I think the Pennine League and Hull League will be the only winter leagues so the Pennine League may stage a coup at BARLA.

Not sure what will happen but I think more teams will eventually move back to the winter simply because of other attractions, iniuries and the heat.

In the short term at open age in Yorkshire there might. But in the long run players will come through who've only known summer and winter players will retire. So summer clubs would end up with 3 or 4 teams or junior only clubs would come through and start at open age in the summer. Winter clubs would have to merge or fold once their players en masse retire.

Haven't the guys who have just run to summer been brought up with winter rugby and lets not forget the admin at the clubs will normally be ex players who will have been brought up with the winter game - We could go on all day and make good reasons why the amateurs should play winter or summer, how many games have already been postponed because the grounds are being used for fetes and festivals, even our last game of the season in the winter fell foul to one.

We've never had a game called off for a fete. But we've had 2 games called off for waterlogged pitch this year (3 if you include reserves). The only game we ever called off for lack of players at first team was after the winter season started.

The players that will be playing in a few years will have been all summer and not want to go play in the cold they've never played in. Would cricket gain from a switch to winter?

Bit like saying would you play water polo on a cricket square, I was not directing the fete directly at you, but check the Cumberland league.

Looks like Cumberland have had lots of games go ahead and the few fetes are hardly comparable to months of called off games in winter.

You don't get months of called off games and I can't say I was ever cold once while playing rugby league or played in four quarters.

No summer games are played in 4 quarters to my knowledge
