I'm going for home advantage and the buzz of the return to the top flight.

I wouldn't call either side ###### mate, but I do agree with you that this doesn't hold well for being a classic.
Hence why I'll be at Headingley on Friday night instead.

There may not be a high level of skill or flash on show but this could be a competitive game as I think these two teams are quite evenly matched. It will be interesting to see them both play.

I think the fact that both sides are pretty much new-look will see this one lack any real cohesion.
Both sides in the close season have had the clearout treatment and rightly so although more so the case in the defence of the Vikings (16 new players out of the 25 man squad).

Close to call but would say Wakey look a more solid unit of the two at this stage but raw emotion could carry the Vikings through looking forward to finding out and also hope to see a few of the young lads who showed up well in pre-season on show McAully (Spelling) / Kavanagh at Widnes and Trout / Walshaw of Wakey.

That is correct mate.
The point I was trying to put over was that for Widnes bringing in 16 new players is perfectly understandable after their promotion.

Pointless me making a prediction really. Will be looking for our youngsters to step up this season. Mulally and Craven particularly.

It would good if you can get a five figure crowd in at the Stobart.

Yep and what an achievement it would be selling full price ticket and not a reduced season pass, onwards and upwards for widnes

Nip and tuck game for mine, one pointer maybe the difference
I'm going for a 35-34

Not a chance I'm afraid Tommy. Most Widnes fans would take 7,000 and be hoping for 8,000.
