Two games less in the 4th and 5th round. Just one will be televised per round.

Could help boost the gates in the earlier rounds rather than people ducking because it's on tv.

Monday night super league on sky means a clash v Corrie! This could cause carnage in many uk households.

Hardly, it'll fill the slot left by Monday Night Football, plus anyone daft enough to watch anything on ITV without the aid of Sky+ and the like wants there head testing!Monday night super league on sky means a clash v Corrie! This could cause carnage in many uk households.

Monday Night Rugby is superb, much better than Saturday tea time.
Disappointing about the BBC and the Challenge Cup though.

Cheer up, RL is actually rather good

Who asked for this? Did the BBC really want less content because the games were not attractive enough? Did the RFL really want less exposure to boost ticket sales?

To continue the spirit of the RFL's sharing nature , the TV rights have probably been offered for free, in the hope in 3 years time, the BBC may offer to show The Superleague Show nationwide!

Just a thought, but the contract for internationals hasn't been announced yet. The BBC seem to prefer "events" over "bread and butter" live action these days, so showing internationals would be more up their street. I'd be happy with a trade-off of less early rounds of the cup and more internationals on the beeb.

Monday nights are gonna see low away crowds. Hopefully these games will show the least attractive fixtures.

On the brightside, that's two less games of Jonathan Davies
Shame premier sports weren't given the other CC games.

Or the aim could be to show more local games.

The cup thing was in The Sun the other day, and although it is The Sun it wasn't really picked up on. Sad, but you can understand the Beebs thinking. Quite often they struggle to find two good games to show in the early rounds. Typically this year you can expect about 5 good clashes to come out of the draw when the SL clubs enter the hat.
It will be interesting to see how often SL will be on on Monday's. For those saying it replaces Monday Night Football - that is only on every two to three weeks - certainly not every week
