Heard from a reliable source at the sorting office that Lee Briers has been dropped to the under 20s and wont play for Wire in sundays opener at Hull.

Not sure of reason why?

Why is it shocking in your opinion??

Gareth O'Brien & Ratchford had rave reviews from the trip down under.

Maybe Smith is looking long term.

We no longer rely on Briers, so not sure why it's shocking.

It could be something or nothing thats why its a shock.

I would have thought a ratchford and myler combo would be the way to go?

Myler and Briers are weak tacklers. From what I've seen, Ratchford isn't brilliant either.

It wouldn't make sense to have all three on the pitch and presumably Tony Smith thinks he can manage half-back cover from the remainder of the 17.

That said; please can we have Briers?

Well so did Briers, didn't he get MOTM in the League Express for the Souths game? It is a bit shocking, you have to admit. Not the biggest shockwave in RL history, but still...

not read the league express, but someone posted on here Ratchford was the stand out player

Smith has also spoken about Gaz O'Brien and Ratchford.

I'm not shocked as Briers was dragged off in the first home game last season as he didn't perform.... Smith knows what he's doing.

SHOCKING    :angry2: :angry2:

Oh hang on, I haven't seen this suggested anywhere apart from in Wendall's head so far.

So I'll stay reasonably unshocked for now.

Rumour going around Headingley that Wire will have to play the second half with 12 men.

It seems that they forgot to bring the half time oranges, and Solomona ate Chris Bridge instead.

Don't know why he was hungry, as he looked as though he had eaten the whole youth team before the game started.

Would be a strage one if true, not because of being dropped, but playing U20s. Thats of no benefit to Briers at all!. Isnt Myler injured?

Myler made a miracle return against Souths, he was supposed to be out for the start of the season.

I just hope Briers aint done anything daft.

Yep, he's not in the 19 named so TOP was right.

Fair play on Smith. For whatever reason he's been left out, i'm sure its the right one.

Yep, fair play. No Joel Monaghan either.

I guess we'll go with something like:

Riley
Williams
Bridge
Atkins
Evans

Ratchford
Myler

Morley
Monaghan M
Carvell
Waterhouse
Westwood
Grix

Subs
Harrison
Wood
Cooper/Hill
Higham

We'll still have a very strong pack, but a very much untested backline.

That's a hell of a pack!
Now then, it's a race between Sandie....and Fairburn....and the little man is in........yeees he's in.

I, just like those Castleford supporters felt that the ball should have gone to David Plange but he put the bit betwen his teeth...and it was a try

Kevin Ward - best player I have ever seen

Lee Briers is a fantastic player and IMHO is still doing it why do we have to knock our stars on this forum thats the problem with RL many just want to knock the players from other clubs this is why we as a sport are not taken seriously its village idiot stuff i am not a wire fan however Lee Briers as a player over the last 10/12 years has been one of our best SL stars and has given us THE FANS plenty of entertainment:)

If it is a disciplinary matter Smith does not mess about he has known to have players sacked
but you and I weve been through that and this is not our fate.
So let us so let us not talk falsely now.
