BARLA have staged a backlash and are setting up winter leagues in Yorkshire from Under 11s upwards so there will be a divide there. Perhaps clubs with open age in summer will have juniors in summer and those with open age in winter will have juniors in winter?

BARLA have not staged a backlash at all, Clubs have approached BARLA because it's not working, BARLA have also decided to start the leagues late so clubs can finish their summer commitments.

Lets report the truth please.

Backlash is the right word as they're providing it for those clubs who have rejected summer. Starting the season later is to be respected

So did the RFL stage a backlash or was it inducement?

A backlash is a reaction to something so not the right word.

When a politician proposes an idea the people against it are a backlash whether they're in the right or wrong.

So if one club was against change there was a backlash.

generally it's larger than one as in this case.

BARLA were offered control of the summer heartland tier 4 leagues as well as winter and turned the RFL down so only have themselves to blame that they lose clubs.

Lets not be selective BARLA had to go in bulk to summer if they took control of tier 4.

Not necessarily as we've seen with the Cumberland League.

The debate between you two on this thread as on many others highlight the real issue in the British game, not licences, overseas players etc. Too many prejudices, mistrust, old opinions, half-hearted carried out ideas etc. The game is simply too fragmented for it to achieve its real potential.

Being a bit pedantic here, but surely one doesn't stage a backlash; a backlash occurs as a reaction to something.

Some in the winter game may provide opportunities to take advantage of any backlash...
