Media analyst Steve Allen has forecast that the upcoming contracts across all media to the four sports could be worth more than $1.65 billion, spearheaded by a $1 billion price tag on rugby league.
But any assault by Ten on the other codes hinges on whether it wins the free-to-air rugby league rights, which come up first. If it does not win them, the chances of it bidding for the other sports will increase significantly.
