Some geezer called Nigel Wood reckons we should reinvent global matches between SPL and NRL teams starting next year, presumably because Leeds beat Manly and he is feeling cocky that Pommy teams can cut it with the Aussies. Don`t know when these so called games will be played as there`s absolutely no spare time in either fixture list, but more to the point, who actually wants them? We tried this 15 years ago when News Limited ran the thing and it was a disaster, the SPL sides winning only one game. The idea will be about as popular in Australia as a visit to the dentists, the only people being possibly interested being pay tv. Do yourself a favour Mr.Wood, stick to trying to run your competition in as best a way as you can and that`s not very good according to a lot of the moans and groans I read about on different club forums.
Global expansion (again?)

Perhaps the games could all be staged in the UK at the SL club's own ground then the NRL teams might struggle.
