This article dosn't ring true,Sale fc are only a level six club on a par with Eccles rugby union with an attendance of one man and his dog. Sorry forgot to mention the article being K PENNY. anyway just in case iv'e been thinking about what would be my threequaters with out him. I think my set up will raise a few eyebrows amongst you.So here goes wings, Armstrong, Foxen. Centres Higson and Darren Hawkyard. Armstrong played wing for Saints and Leigh. On sunday Darren was doing the must damage out wide like an extra centre. With the defensive capabilities of both Higson and Darren Ithink the cover for the wings would be a lot better. Just food for thought?

I thought our threequarter line looked strong just how it was. Darren Hawkyard is too slow for me in the centres and is best left where he is,ie in position. I dont think there is anything wrong with our team or our players,Ive said this for years,we just didnt finish very well on Sunday.
Id have Foxen or Hurst before Dodd though.

I almost agree with mark. I don't fancy darren as a centre, I can see where your coming from with it, and as a back-up centre yes but IMO he doesnt have the pace and I doubt he has the attacking awareness to play there permanently, hes a fantastic second row however! I also think Armstrong would be wasted on the wing, the lad clearly has bags of talent, I think we will see a lot more of what hes capable of as he settles in and the season progresses.

Dodd frustrates me, I really like him as a player, hes quick, hes powerful, he runs fantastic lines, and hes got a good set of hands to go with it. But when it comes to defense hes the most eccentric player iv ever seen. He flies out of the line unnecessarily, occasionally tackles too high and gets caught out of position. I cant really say id prefer anyone over him though, I think foxen is an absolute beast with the ball in hand, but defensively is no better and lacks dodds experience, and as iv mentioned in previous posts I dont think, personally, hurst poses much, if any, attacking threat to the opposing team. I think all 3 should be given opportunity if the others make mistakes until someone can really stamp their authority on the position.

I think glenngary raises an interesting point but I rekon if left as is, armstrong and higson could be the best set of centres iv ever seen at Swinton!
