Morocco's first domestic tournament and a planned application for Observer status of the RLEF have given the game in the North African country positive momentum as it heads into 2012.
Seven teams from five cities are confirmed for the league which is due to start in March, while another, Arribati, is likely to be included once official documentation is processed.
Association Maocaine de Rugby a XIII, Rabarhose, Berrechid, Berrechid Lions, Majd Sbatta, Amal Hasani and Assalm from the cities of Rabat, Sale, Casablanca, Berrechid and Golmim will possibly mean a stronger national team when it competes in the Middle East North African Championship later this year.
As part of MENA preparations, a Moroccan XIII will also play a friendly against la Ligue Aquitaine de Rugby a XIII from France.
The Federation Marocaine de Rugby League will also be running Coaches and Referees courses, bringing in Group Insurance for all teams as well as introducing a beach competition.
