Any ideas who will play full back on sunday, with miller and carter banned our options are limited. This is not what we needed for a massive game.

OK ive found the right thread now!!! Johnson seems to be highly rated, surely he is able to fill on there, Patrick and J Dawes on wings?

I would go the other way round and play Jonathon Dawes at FB with Johnson and Patrick on the wings.

I see Oldham have taken a young Leeds prop on dual reg for the season and he could play on Sunday.
I remember when .............................

"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimesion, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave hadfield - Independent 25th Augsut 1996.

Dawes is very highly rated at full back, but I would rather see experience back there. Shame we didn't sign Lebbon back on for a squad player.

At a push I would say Forber could play FB and leave Petersen at HB with Dawes and Johnson on the wings (if Patrick is unavailable)

That would leave us with no half back at all. Ive not heard if bamber is fit or not, plus Forber can't really tackle and has been one of our standout performers at stand off so I wouldn't move him. Give ginge the number 1 jersey.....

Jonathon Dawes will do a good job there with no problems, maybe even give Carter a run for the shirt full time. Is Gus still with us??
The race is not always to the swift nor the battle to the strong, but thats the way to bet!

Absolutely agree, jonathon is a very good fullback, even better than he is in the centres, and he is good enough there.

Jonathan Dawes always had a strong a strong game at Maryport when he played full back, so I wouldn't have any qualms about playing him there, he is wasted on the wing

We always sign so many forwards , that's ok , but every man and his dog knew - and wrote here - that we were light at 1-7. I wrote my squad list down and we were deep in the pack and obviously light behind if any injuries or bans hit.
So look where we are now. That's been the one beef from the off season , that our back recruitment lagged behind that upfront.

Pretty unfair to see we have made a mistake when we are unlucky enough to have lost our 1st and 2nd choice full backs. I think most squads would struggle with that.

Short in the backs??
When everyone is fit, Miller, Johnson, Rooney, Dawes x 2, Patrick, Mossop, Fraser?, Bamber, Lupton, Carter, Forber + Olstrum & Peterson as cover. So can't see how you would say that is light. Just all rather unfortunate, to have two half backs out injured at the same time and now two more backs suspended at the same time.
