******** WELCOME ********
to this our latest tipping competition of the 2012 season.
Everyone reading this is welcome to enter.

Posted Image

Entries are allowed each week up until the kick off of the first game in the round
The first game this week is on Friday

ROUND 3 QUESTIONS:

*Poll Competition:
How many teams will score 30 or more points in NRL Round 3?
- enter in the poll itself at the top and put your answer in your posting.

The poll is anonymous so we can't give you credit unless it is in your predictions post.

Now for the main event of the week:

*Match Tipping Competition:
Name the 8 (that's EIGHT) winning teams in NRL Round 3 2012

*Points Competition
How many points will be scored by all the teams added together in R3?
This is a competition in itself and will act as a tie breaker for the match tipping comp if necessary. This is used as the decider when necessary so do give it a go.

*Home Win Competition:

How many HOME wins will there be in NRL R3 2012?
After two rounds home wins have been few and far between. Surely this week this will change, won't it?
In rounds where the game is on the road and played at a neutral venue, the team named first in the fixture will be regarded as the home team for the purposes of this competition.

Fixtures:

Animated awards will be given for the winner(s) of each competition question.
Match tipping scores will be added together as the season progresses to produce a Tipsters' Ladder which is pinned to the top of the forum topic list page
The best of luck to everyone.
Enjoy your Rugby League!

Welcome Southstander13.
It's good to have you with us.

The NRL coverage is great and there's such a lot of it!
It'll be interesting to see how you like the different TV companies coverage.
Not so much the camerawork as the commentary teams.
Personally I like Rabbits and his posse. There's never a dull moment.

Good luck.

Now as for you BR I'll have to interrogate you further ...

What I mean is, which are your choices? I'm taking it that you have chosen the teams whose logos are still visible. What's the jelly mould shape in gold?
Usually it's only Barney that wreaks havoc here! Posted Image

OK I'll confess I'm just having you on - The logos have it as there's just 3 in the home column matching your 3 home win choice.

Thanks for keeping me on my toes. That's definitely the most creative entry to date.

B) It's a sandstone headstone.
The inference being it marks a loss but it ain't permanent :P

Dont get me wrong, ive watched a fair few NRL games in the past but this is probably the first year that ive really sat down and taken a keen interest. I've been trying to work out why and I think its a combination of the good coverage from Premier Sports (6 games a week is amazing!) and the increased Super League flavour there. Ellis, Graham, the Burgess family, plus a fair few ex SL players too.

Im also a supporter up for grabs, I have no team yet in the NRL. But if you forced me to pick today, id edge towards Souths, again I have no real reason why!

Ive always preferred the Aussie commentators, but bearing in mind ive been listening to Eddie and Stevo since the age of 8, for the last 20 years, anything is an improvement! Rabbits is Australian Rugby League to me, his voice has been there as long as I can remember so I enjoy the Channel 9 coverage.

Right then, we'll not force you to pick at the moment! Posted Image

Having watched NRL seriously now for the past few years via Online, Setanta and currently Premier Sports there's no doubt in my mind that Premiers Sports TV is the best and most approachable company so far.
The number of NRL games shown each week together with a Championship game is terrific. You had to bring up (I use the phrase advisedly) Eddie and Stevo, didn't you? Enough said - really enough! Posted Image
I also like the fact that we see the full game with no breaks except for half time. We even stay live when the aussie broadcast goes to an ad break in breaks of play.
Could PSTV be better? Maybe if they showed an aussie preview/features programme during the week, not necessarily the Footy Show.

Thats the only thing I would like extra, but to be honest its been hard to fault Premier Sports. Im loving the coverage so far, just wish the Warriors Bulldogs game was on this weekend!
