Yesterdays Championship scores.
The Co-Operative Championship
Batley 8-10 Keighley
Hunslet 22-40 Sheffield
Swinton 16-34 Dewsbury
York 18-24 Halifax
The Co-Operative Championship 1
Barrow 25-8 Doncaster
London Skolars 66-16 Crusaders
Oldham 40-14 Gateshead
South Wales 10-40 Workington
Whitehaven 30-10 Rochdale
Hardly close scores there.
Just another dig at SL perhaps.

Rugby league at any level is a sport with no real hiding place.
Mismatches can and do occur at all levels as a result.

Even if its a dig at SL, its a badly mistimed one after most of this weekends games. Though I suppose some people aren`t happy if they have nothing to moan and whinge about.

Fridays games were mismatches but the big two glamour clubs Wire and Wigan got tested by Wakefield and London respectively so just shows what teams are capable of.

let's assume you mean super league: as I've never heard of this 'Dooper League' you speak of.
4 out of 7 games were closely fought affairs-this merans that most games at the weekend weren't 'mis
matches
Bradford/Saints margin 4 points. A significant result signalling a possible return to form of a somewhat dormant club, and the demise of one of recent history's big hitters
Catalan/Hull KR margin 8 points. Catalan one of the top teams in the League were beind for much of the game.
Warrington/Wakefield margin 2 points. Big team almost beaten by one of the lesser lights. Wakeffield could have snatched a result in the dying minutes.
Wigan/Broncos margin 8 points Broncos have had a lousy start to the season, but took the warriors to within 2 scores.
that seems competitive to me, and intriguing as well.
OK now the mismatches-the mimority of games.
Huddersfield/Cas 38 point margin. cas one of the weaker sides, who have had a great deal of upheaval lately: against the form team of the competition
Hull/Widnes 48 point margin. Newly appointed team struggling to find its feet and away from home.
Salford/Leeds margin 46 popints. One of the lower lights against the World Champions.
I wouldn't put it past any of the 'weaker' teams here to overturn form and beat putatively superior opponents, a bit like Widnes did to Wigan.

Wolves 0-5 Man Utd. It happens and will always happen. It even happened before SL believe it or not.

The rules are part of the problem. Its too easy to score with the 10m rule and it leads to blowouts

what led to 'blowouts' before this rule was implemented?
be careful: I have the figures.

We did not have anywhere near as many blowouts in the top flight. It was very rare under the 5 m rule to have scoreline over 50 pointswhat led to 'blowouts' before this rule was implemented?

On the other hand there was the 11-10 defeat by an already doomed Fulham side (I remember it well).
