Back to the music....
Today I got the River Detectives, Rush, Willie Nile and everything but the girl.
another eclectic mix but all sort my mood.

EBTG for the journey to work. The River Detectives and little Willie Nile for my out and about visits and Rush for a blast on my way home. Sorted.

try not to let the work interfere with the music Robin

Family, Fev, Food, Wine and Music...... not necessairly in that order. Kind of sums up my world. Work kind of exists only as a means to these ends! Work will never interfere with the music old one!

I saw BBD as support to CMU on 30 March 1973 at Kings School Ponty. Hooked ever since. There is a handwritten playlist here http://www.billnelso...s/live/main.htm

FAO ANDREW VAUSE.........AS REQUESTED

It was a good local venue Robin, only a small room, but intimate. Never had big recording artists on, but some of the best small pub bands in Yorkshire, plus one or two slightly bigger names such as The Mac Lads & The Bobby Charltons.

On another note, I have written my love of The Rolling Stones into a novel I am on with, I wonder whether you'd like to read one of the chapters and see what you think? The book is called "Faces on a Dartboard", and the chapter is called "Paint it Black". In a nutshell, a bloke walks into a pub and notices that the locals are playing darts with a board that has faces ingrained behind the spider, one side has Maggie Thatcher, and the other Maurice Lindsay (or Rupert Murdoch, I haven't made my mind up yet). He asks why, and the locals sit him down to tell him a story, about the Miners Strike, Pit Closures, Prospective mergers for Super League, and the end of promotion and relegation.

I could do with some feedback and encouragement at this moment in time. Due to family illness I haven't made much progress over the last year or two, and need to get back into it.

If anyone else would like to read it and ad comment please feel free.

Steve.

Bought the "live at River Plate" album a few weeks ago on triple red Vinyl. Brilliant!

Today is an eclectic mix or varying genres.

It's friday and I'm a bit giddy so can't make my mind up.

I have Lloyd Cole and the commotions, The Doobie Bros with a splash of Ash thrown in.

Music from 3 decades turned right up to eleven!

Love n Peace man!!!!

We got Suede's new album last week. Not everyone's cup of Hydrochloric Acid but I still think they are making fantastic tunes after 22 years in one line up or another. Jeez 22 years it only seems like 10 minutes ago.

Loved it. I thought they rather lost their way after that. 'Mainstream' was quite pretentious.

LCATC were part of a whole group of Scottish bands including Orange Juice, Roddy Frame and others that I really liked in the early 80s.

How did you find Motherwell's finest, "the river detectives" a few years later. Always found them to be a good listen.

Name to conjure with! I only vaguely remember them. I might be a bit too middle of the road because I was also listening to Deacon Blue and Texas. I went all over to see Orange Juice, my favourite band for a while....

I saw Lloyd Cole and the commotions in 1984 at a nightclub in Tollcross, Edinburgh. Some of the music was fantastic.

"Out of the way, son. Where's my medal?" Alex Murphy's immortal words as David Hobbs scores his 2nd try in the '83 Cup Final!

I remember seeing Lloyd Cole and the commotions in 1986 at the Milton Keynes bowl. On the same gig was Big Audio Dynamite, Doctor and the Medics, Waterboys, Rodey Frame, and Simple Minds, I still reckon it was one of the best gigs I have been too. The song that I remember most is Rodey Frame singing Purple Rain with the Waterboys.
