I remember seeing Lloyd Cole and the commotions in 1986 at the Milton Keynes bowl. On the same gig was Big Audio Dynamite, Doctor and the Medics, Waterboys, Rodey Frame, and Simple Minds, I still reckon it was one of the best gigs I have been too. The song that I remember most is Rodey Frame singing Purple Rain with the Waterboys.

wouldn't have had you down as a BAD fan?
Saw em at yhe leadmill. Top gig

The bible
Bridewell taxis
And ocean colour scene today.

Bit of a 90's vibe.

I can never understand how the Bible and the taxis failed to break through to the big time. Great bands.

And in keeping with the current topical newsl theme I now have the La's on!

Counting crows to continue the 90's theme.... but how I ended up with Three dog night on I'll never know!!

It's kind of a quantum leap from one to t'other!

You're all goin' on about the 90's...much too late for me. Can anyone remember the Donkeys from the late 70's/early 80's?
Those that went to Normanton Grammar school might remember the band leader, Neil Ferguson, who later lost his street cred quite a bit as a record producer with that band responsible for Agadoo!
The Donkeys were good though, I remember seeing them in Sheffield around the same time as Duran Duran were emerging on the scene.

You can indeed KOL. One of my fav albums of all time. I have seen andy powell's version a couple of years ago but preferred martin Turner's version of wishone ash. They played in wath near me a couple of years ago and were brilliant.
Not a weak track is there on that album.

Anyone's top three albums of yheir lifetime is always likely to vary according to mood, time etc, but argus is always in my top three amd turner turner upton and powell is the classic line up tho laurie wiesfield was no slouch

Just to ease the tension, I thought I'd regurgitate the music thread. Does anyone remember the song 'sock it to em JB'? it was a reggae song covered by The Specials. Stratto your always trying to get chants going, food for thought perhaps.. I thought of the song only because of its chanty nature, nothing else.

I Can't think of 3 albums to sum up how I feel right now and I don't know if its an age thing but I've just listended to The Raw and The Cooked by Fine Young Cannibals and one track from the album sums up how I feel today after 4 days on the pop, "Im not the man I used to be".
