How about:

Mort; Reay, Armstrong, Gorski, Higson; Ainscough, Watson; Mills, McConnell, Morrison, Meekin, Wingfield, Cunniffe.

An entire starting line up of former Leigh players!
Rugby League - great game, shame about the administration.

1. R. Hawkyard

2. Mort
3. Higson
4. Armstrong
5. Dodd

6. Ainscough
7. Watson

8. Morrison
9. Ashall
10. Forster
11. D. Hawkyard
12. Cunniffe
13. I'Anson

14. Smith
15. Holland
16. Gorski
17. Wingfield/Meekin

I realise this side largely resembles the side that played on sunday, but I said before the game and stand by the view that it was our strongest possible side with the additions of Wingy/Meekin. Plus I think with our system of rotation/competition for places it would be good to show the players (especially the forwards) that if they do play well they do keep the shirt.
Im only smiling because `no-one`'s found the bodies yet.

Forster was awesome on sunday if he can have a similar game and Watto bosses it, with the quality we've got in the backs we should give the lobbys a tough game.
Dont worry, it will soon be Christmas!

Ashall was a touch over-eager at times on Sunday and I felt this contributed to a few handling errors. It was no coincidence the completion rate went up considerably when Mark Smith arrived. Dave McConnell is quality, so I'd possibly even be tempted to give him another chance.

While not convincing thus far, if there is one game all season that David Mills ought to get fired up for it is this one. It might be worth taking the chance he finds the motivation to run harder, at least from off the bench.

Presumably Alex Hurst was out on Sunday due to injury. If recovered there should be serious thought about including him instead of Dodd, as Leigh will put pressure on the defence there (Steve McCormack apparently having decided that Kevin Penny isn't his cup of tea!).

I have a slight worry re; Dale Cunniffe and the likelihood he'll give away a few penalties, particularly if Leigh get the upper hand.

I wouldnt bring Mills back for this game.I thought our front row and replacements did a good enough job to keep their places for this weeks game.As for Cunniffe hes a tackling machine in the middle of the park, he got stepped for a Batley try at the weekend but his overall work rate and fire is what we need.Even Westwood at Warrington gives away daft Penalties but makes up for it in other parts of his game.I would stick with the same team and see what we can throw at Leigh.

We always sign the wrong brother.

Id leave the team exactly how it was except for the subs where id bring back meekin n mills purely for their size in place of Holland and hale. Mills certainly wasnt earned his recall and neither hale nor Holland deserve to be left out but the leigh factor must be considered.
I think the huge contribution cunniffe makes to every game outweighs any downside to his game and he is a must play for me as is ashall over an unfit mcconnell. His enthusiasm outweighs his occasional errors.
Id pick hurst over mort rather than dodd. Mort although out of position needs space to do anything and in this league theres very little.

After last weeks game, I'm absolutely gutted I can't make it on Friday, but I'll be listening in nonetheless.

I'd go for...

R.Hawkyard
Mort
Higson
Armstrong
Hurst (Dodd, if injured)
Ainscough
Watson
Forster
Smith
Holland
Cunniffe
D.Hawkyard
I'Anson

Ashall
Meekin
Gorski
Morrison

That would be 8 former Leythers, although I think Watto will be firmly classed as Swintonian first!

I hope for another tough display, defence first, Leigh will challenge our wide areas...Batley's first try was very soft. Hurst provides far more defensive ability IMO, although Doddy was very safe on Sunday. Another masterclass from Mr Watson please!

Nope - you've named 9 former Lobby Gobblers there.

Accoding to a posting on the Leigh forum Mills is rumoured to be unhappy with us and could return to Leigh.Penny was at the game on Sunday and said he is available for selection.

I'd take that with a pinch of salt to be honest, although there's no doubting that he was one of our top players last year.

Pinch of salt or not, you say he was one of your top players. Id say hes by far our worst prop. So somethings not right...

If it means it frees up a bit of the old cash you can have him!!! Id much prefer a proper loose forward than a useless prop. No disrespect to I'Anson as I think hes playing great out of position, but we need a phil joseph shaped character at number 13 IMO.
